Layton golden corral is usually my favorite place to go. This afternoon when we went as a family i was very disappointed in the quality of the food there today. My favorite food is the big shrimp. It was terrible. The shrimp looked like they were undercooked. They usually are a darker brown in color from the deep frying. The inside of the shrimp was mushy like not cooked thoroughly. My next favorite is the deep fried chicken. My first piece when I turned it over looked as if a rodent had chewed on it. I'm sure that's not the case. It looked like it had been there all day. Second piece was a little better but still like it was undercooked. I'm going to have a hard time paying out $40 for two meals like they were today.
We were there on a busy day. Excellent job keeping up with the demand... they never ran out of anything.
The only thing I can suggest is having chilled plates for the salad and dessert bars.

Wide selection of foods with a nice carvery section which was very good. Just a little short on the healthier options, but overall, good value for money.

Our waiter was very cheerful and kind. She always asked how we were doing and kept the table clear as we finished plates. She also refilled drinks as she saw we needed them. She was very observant and served when she saw a need.

If you want a buffet this is the place to go they have the best food, they have a great salad bar for those who don't eat meat.
