It's been three or four years since I was there, so I wanted to go again with four friends.
The food wasn't as good as I remember. Shrimp and clam Boil were just okay. My wife was not impressed with the etouffee. Sorry to say

Me and some friends went in Sunday to eat while everything was fine there, later that night we all ended up with food poisoning. The next day we are still so sick to where I had to call out of work because I just cannot get out of bed. We called the restaurant back and explained what is going on and we were told that more then likely it’s not food poisoning because it takes 8 hours to kick in but in reality food poisoning can start as early as 30min after eating. These servers shouldn’t give out medical advice without actually knowing. The lady who answered did not want to help us with our refund after me and my friends got food poisoning from their restaurant. It was just a horrible experience all around that caused us bad stomach pain and throwing up.

Decent food & place, but a little bit over priced compared to what’s similar and around. Customer service however is brutal. Very slow & took 10 minutes to even get a drink after being seated. Not the best first impression.

First time visiting and was pleasantly surprised. My crab meat salad was absolutely delicious and the coconut shrimp was crunchy just the way I like. Our servicer, Caressa, was welcoming and extremely attentive to our needs.

Love the food. We’ve eaten here several times. Crab meat fries are freaking delicious.
That being said…the service. Not good. We had totally talked up Hook & Reel to out of town family. We love the food and atmosphere.
WE WERE NOT IMPRESSED. Our waitress seemed so bothered with us. (We’ve had her the last 2 times!) We had to ask for drink refills, water, plates, forks and more drink refills. Wait staff was on their phones, leaning against the counter and flirting. Like to the point we felt like we should leave them alone. It was such a weird vibe.
I love the atmosphere but it is WAY TOO DARK. We had to use our phone flashlights to read the menu.
If I’m paying $100, I expect better.
When gratuity is already added in, I guess they don’t really care?

This place was amazing. Their boil was delicious. You gotta get the beignets for dessert too. I’ll definitely be coming back. Service was outstanding as well. 10/10 Recommend ?

I come to a convention nearby every year. I always stop at Hook and Reel. I switch it up every time. Never had a bad experience. Got the catfish this time. It was amazing
