stopped at Smiths to get gas and they had a large Tamales sign. My wife told me we should try some tamales. I am very hesitant with food trucks in general and hard to find great tamales. I ended up getting 10 with two free split with the red and green. They gave me some red and green sauce. Tamales are excellent!!!! Green sauce is great not too much spice. The red sauce is so spicy it made my cheeks sweat and great flavor. I live in West Jordan so luckily I have family in Layton to get my tamale fix! Very friendly service as well. 5 stars all around!

I’ve been to this a food truck quite a while and it has NEVER disappointed me, the food is never dry or bland, always has flavor. My favorite meats are the sweet pork and pastor, seriously taste so good in burritos or vampiritos. Service was really nice.If you are in the area you need to check them out. Best Mexican food you’ll ever have!!

My 1st at taqueria la Loteria. The food is great, I don't think you can go wrong with any of their items. The red hot sauce is really hot but the green hot sauce isn't.They have great service.I had a couple of carne asada tacos and al pastor. Awesome stuff ???

Tried Taqueria La Loteria food truck in Layton in the Smiths parking lot and was pleasantly surprised. We tried their quesabirrias, asada street tacos and al pastor street tacos. They were all really good, with my favorite being the al pastor with diced pineapple included. Adds a nice sweet flavor and diced in instead of just a piece of pineapple on top allowed for a better consistent flavor throughout. It's a small truck with covered tables and more tables under a tree. And they even cover the tables with white tablecloths, fancy for a food truck. Nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy the pleasant fall weather while enjoying a taco. Patio dining.
Some of the best tacos I have ever had in the state of Utah and I don’t see that lightly, being born and raised in Mexico and finding actual authentic tacos that are actually delicious is very hard and I’m super happy that I finally have found a spot here in Utah that lives up to where the taco should be I highly recommend it come, check them out!
