Very friendly, I visit once a week and am thankful for an establishment like this who goes out of the way to satisfy their customers. Five GOLD STARS.
Well to say we were disappointed is an understatement! We went out of our way to find a winery, while we’re in Utah. This one popped up on google maps. We walked in at 6 pm and absolutely no one else in the place.(remember this). We said we’d like to Winchester and the gentleman behind the counter said, reservations only” Ok fine, we’ll bring our business elsewhere. We’re from Michigan and have tons of wineries, no one does reservations! They are very busy too! The Google maps had no indication of that but,,we looked at the website and it does say reservations only, ok then!
If I could give this experience a no star, I would! Mike is such a rude “host”-with a very large attitude- and is all about talking smack about other companies under the ruse he is “doing us a favor by informing us”, by the way- Barton’s product is 1792 not 1762!! So much for all your knowledge!! Oh by the way- I have personally toured Bartons and their products and staff were amazing!! We were so disappointed and felt duped! When we walked in- there were two girls having a tasting at the bar- the young girl, who was working her last shift was very nice and only trying to follow “the rules” regarding required reservations informed us that we had to wait an hour for a wine tasting and tour, so we booked and AFTER we had paid $25/person to come back an hour later- of which we arrived back 15 minutes early- were very rudely told we couldn’t even sit at the EMPTY bar while we waited- even after we PAID- this was ridiculous!! I travel the country visiting various distilleries and wineries and have never experienced such an arrogant know-it-all, that feels the need to run his mouth negatively about other businesses! Any other business we have visited show nothing but respect and positivity towards fellow distillers and winemakers. Your “host” should expand his knowledge and take note on what great customer service is. Would not recommend this experience to anyone!! Don’t waste the extra $5 for the “tour”, of which we didn’t get a choice but to pay for since it was the only option available, supposedly- to literally walk back behind the bar to see the still- what a joke! If it weren’t for the no refund policy- we would’ve left!
Super approachable, and really creative with their selection. Love this place, and their meads especially!
I tried my first mead here. I got the fall mead and it is really delicious, would go back again to try the other products.
I love the ciders. And they have lots of unique drinks to try.
This place is a little gem. Its been there for quite a while and I always told myself I needed to go in and check it out. Well I finally got in there today. Very cool place. The lady at the front desk was super helpful and answered all of my dumb questions about the differences between Mead and Wine. What off dry meant and every other random question I could think of while I checked out their store. I eventually walked out with the Sample pack of wine because I just couldn't decide on what to go with. They all looked good! And I had to add a photo of my samples while unpacking them in my photo studio of course. lol. This place is awesome. You wont regret checking it out! AND they are even open on Sundays!
I love the Mead. The best I have ever had. I have been imbibing it for years.
When I first asked about it at the liquor store a dude that was about 6'4" tall, who looked like a viking and was wearing a kilt, overheard I was looking for it and his ears pearked up. He told me to be careful because it is easy to put down an entire bottle wothout thinking about it.
Alas, I did not heed his warning and I devoured the entire bottle in no time.
Ever since I have been hooked. They also have amazing hard ciders and tasty brandy. I got the apricot brandy today and it is a must try.
The store is quaint and very welcoming. The staff are always very friendly and love to chat.
I'm obsessed with this place! Everything they make is incredible!
Their Summer honey wine is a roller coaster. The first notes of ethanol, followed by honey chloraseptic. Sad as I wanted to enjoy this local company.
Restaurantji Recommends
I’m a very positive person, but unfortunately this wine is just so awful hahahaha
Always fantastic! Love the tastings, and they have such great selections
Loved the tour and the tasting we went to. Highly recommend the strawberry Hive-Rita!!
Nice place. Nice people. I got some peach brandy and some mead. Always wanted to try mead
Great small, local business. Michael was kind enough to answer my husband's many questions. We'll definitely be back for a tasting! (The Hot Buttered Rum cocktail mix is delicious!)
