Best Esquites/ corn in a cup I've had. The mangoneada is delicious as well! I'm definitely going back to try more of their menu.

I had to chase down garbage that a woman had through outside her restaurant. Yes, just walked outside and through it on the ground. Have some respect for the environment. I will never come here.

I ordered a chile relleno to go- it was amazing but very pricey and literally had no sauce or cheese on top which was really weird but ok I figured it was a mistake and went back to order a meal another day. I wanted to add an extra relleno because it's common to have 2 when you go to a Mexican restaurant but this place wanted an extra 10$ to add another chile relleno to my chile relleno order- I literally could not believe when she told me my order was 27$ and some change!!! It should be a few dollar up charge not 10 extra dollars when I'm already buying a chile relleno meal. I said no thanks- I'll go somewhere more reasonable. I'm sad because it was good but that's literally insane pricing.. never again.

My husband and I love this place! The rice is the best around, authentic Mexican food, beautiful decor, genuine staff just overall a great experience.

Their new location next to McDonald's is so amazing! Super friendly staff, beautiful decore, menudo and the cucumber agua fresca with lemon and chia seeds was hands down the best I have had! No more driving to West Valley or someones home for a good Menudo! This one is even better!

Wow this place is good! My wife is a food snob and Mexican food is her jam.. and I wish she'd look at me like she looks at each bite of her food from this place:) ..the burria is particularly off the charts. And the staff are super nice, outstanding customer service. NOTE: they have 2 locations almost across the street from each other: a snack shop and their actual full service restaurant and this review is for the latter.

This place is the real deal. EVERYTHING was made from scratch and made to order. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the atmosphere/setup was darling. I don’t say this lightly but maybe the best Mexican food I’ve had since living in Mexico. I tried the chipotle chicken and the sauce was amazing. Can’t wait to come back.Oh yeah… the address has changed and they are now down the street by Vasa (behind McDonald’s)

I crave their quesibirria tacos constantly. The consome is rich and flavorful and have the perfect amount of heat. Usually, even taking them to go and driving 10 minutes back to my house, they're still perfectly crunchy. The shrimp tacos are excellent. The enchiladas are delicious and just packed with flavor. The bean and cheese burrito is my ultimate comfort food. Their tres leche cakes are the perfect dessert. Their new location (too conveniently) located by VASA seems really nice! The service is always very friendly and welcoming.

If you want authentic food with deep family roots, this is the place. The friendly staff served up classic Mexican food that I've been craving for a while. I'm looking forward to trying everything on the menu.

Oh my GOSH! I came across a Mexican restaurant in Layton called THE SPANGLISH. The food was incredible. I’m a Latina who felt like I was eating in my mom’s kitchen. I judge each Mexican restaurant by the individual taste of each item. Every bite was better than the previous one. As I continued with my meal, I was surprised at how genuine each item tasted. We were happy to wait a little for our food knowing it was being prepared FRESH. The place was uber clean and decorated true to form that it took me back to my own home with sights and smells of my childhood. I hate to post this review because now all you people that read this will want to try it and it has become MY favorite Mexican restaurant!

The new location opened this week. I called to place a carry out order and was not aware of the new location. I went to the old place and was instructed to go over to the new location to pick up my food. The employee at the old location said that they would only be serving snack items. I went to the new location and before leaving the register I checked to make sure the elotes' were in the bag - they weren't. The employee told me that they don't make the elote at the new location, and they are going to be part of the snack menu at the old location. She wasn't able to make the elote for me because the ingredients (mayo, cheese, chili seasoning, lime) were over at the old location even though they had the corn on the cobs at the new place. She mentioned they have to take the corn over to the old place for them to make the elote. When I asked further questions about it, the employee said, "I don't know, I just work here." It does not make sense to me that the elote can not be made in house at the old place. If you dine in at the new place, and want elote, then you would have to make a separate trip to the old location. isn't elote a common appetizer?? Also, the chile verde burrito had pineapple in it - not sure how the pineapple was put into the burrito. Overall the food is great, however I feel they may loose some business due to the issue of having to travel between two separate locations to get the food items of preference.

This place was sooo good. It’s so nice to know they honor their grandma with her recipes.Service was outstanding and new restaurant is very nice and spotless. We had the quesabirria burrito and chili relleno platter. Both were outstanding. It’s not cheap, but nothing is anymore. $20, or so, a person seems to be the norm now, most places. I don’t mind spending a bit more if it’s good, and it was.
