As long as they don't seat you in the back over flow room if they sit you there ask for a different table you will enjoy the experience much more
Ivy was amazing. We love tsunami and are regulars. Food is always amazing. She knew all the specials.
Great food and we had an amazing waiter. We got seated a little early which was awesome and our food came out hot and in a timely manner.
Always amazing tasting food! Quality of sashimi & nigiri, as well as rolls is great! Service was good and speed of service was a bit on the slower side, as they seemed to be understaffed. One thing that I find offensive as a great tipper (usually between 22-30%), is that Tsunami determines tip based on total (after 8%+ sales tax), rather than the subtotal. Why should a patron pay 20-22% tip on the 8%+ sales tax paid to the city & state???!!! A fair number of restaurants practice this very deceitful method of calculating tips. This would translate into an additional $16-18 on a $200 meal (subtotal)!!! Why should the waitstaff get $16-20 more (for no additional effort on their part but just because the restaurant dishonestly calculates the tips by doing so on the total incl tax???). I believe in generously taking care of servers who go the extra mile but it is ludicrous to think that one should add a crisp $20 onto the bill just because uncle Utah takes his cut too! ;) ;) ;) lmao
Harrison is one of my favorite people and always makes me feel so comfortable. The whole staff is amazing. The food is second to none.
Delicious food, great atmosphere. The server was so on top of things, even as we added things to our order after placing the initial one.

Always a pleasure. Fresh and fabulous. Sat at the sushi bar for the first time and it was fun to talk sushi with the sushi chefs.

My mom comes here ALL the time and we live this place. But they never accommodate my request when I ask for a booth. We just felt like an eye sore in the middle of the restaurant.
Great night out great food, just a good evening with friends great atmosphere and great service.
The coconut desert with the banana was divine

The food isn’t what it used to be, although we had a couple rolls to go it was for my sister in law to enjoy after spending a few weeks in the hospital only for her to find a hair in the first roll she ate. I was shocked to say the least it was absolutely disgusting. Won’t ever be dining here again I’d give 0 stars if I could.

Don’t substitute with “other sushi on the menu”. The lunch combo menu is originally $15, and the waiter said it’ll probably be a couple bucks more. It turns out to be $30 upon checkout. The waiter had the chance to double check on the upcharge since I was informed one of the sushi I chose wasn’t available. I was disappointed, but paid it anyways.
Food was very good.

We hadn’t been to Tsunami for a few years and it was such a disappointment this time. The service was good so no criticism there. The food however, terrible. The quality has dropped so much since the last time we went, I was stunned.
To start with the miso soup had such a strong msg taste it was completely inedible.
We ordered 2 combination meals and 1 extra roll. The taste of the salmon and teriyaki steak was good but the portion size was honestly something I’d expect on a kids menu. The salmon was about a quarter inch thick.
The really disappointing thing were the sushi rolls. The cococabana was the best of the 3 but it was comparable to something you’d buy in desperation at a grocery store. The rice for everything was way too dry and they were just falling apart. The actual slices of fish were incredibly small as were the rolls themselves.
The signature Tsunami roll was not good at all. It was weirdly chewy and the rice was especially bad in this roll. The Vegas roll, which is a favorite of mine at most restaurants, had the most strange flavor I’ve ever had in a roll. It was horrible and I couldn’t eat more than 1 piece and I regretted that one.
The tempura was not crisp. Just awful food. If you want good sushi I’d definitely skip Tsunami and go to Kahi in American Fork or Blue Fish in South Jordan. But based on our food last night, ANY sushi restaurant would be better. We have no plans to return again. It ruined my birthday dinner.
