Been to this place before and thought I would take my wife here again last night. Boy was I disappointed this time. I told them the food was good but the portion for what I paid was disappointing. The lady told me "ribs is one of our higher priced meats" Yes I understand that, thats why you charge extra for them, good thing my wife got the 2 meal plate and yes they charged extra for the Brisket she got and another additional up charge for the Ribs. Good thing the 2 meat meal cause over $20 for the plate and she received 2 TINY RIBS which we all know is mostly bone and very little meat. Your not the only place that does this, Mo Bettas up charges the steak but at least you get some steak!!! Here we hardly got any ribs (meat) Just 2 bones. If she had only gotten the 1 meal plate she wouldn't have had hardly any meat to eat and paid alot for it.
Most likely wont be going back , like I said was good but not at that price for 2 Bones.
PS Someone else posted 4 ribs for $20! well they got double the portion we received. I would've expected at least 4 for that charge.

I went to this place with my 5-year-old daughter, and although the food was tasty, mine came almost cold... Also, I bought the largest portion that the staff told me would be "shareable," but that wasn’t really the case. I was somewhat disappointed with my first experience... I expected more for the price of the meal.

This is a great little gem with so many great menu items. My favorite is how they season their sweet potato fries. Don't know what it is but it's magical.

Had the smoked chicken, beans and potatoes and corn. The meat was ice cold. I asked the front desk person if the meat was supposed to be cold, and she said that it was supposed to be hot. My husband's pork was cold as well. She didn't apologize for the cold meat.
The sides were really small. They were at least hot. The corn bread was decent but also cold. You couldn't put butter on it because it wouldn't spread. The whole experience left me cold. Probably won't go back.

The Smoking Apple is small and quaint, with a very cozy environment. This was our first time here, and so we decided to get the three meat platter, to share with the sides of smoked beans and fries. We paid a little extra to get the fries loaded.
The meats were great and well cooked. The beans were perhaps a little too smokey, but overall good, and the cornbread was the best cornbread I've had at a BBQ restaurant. The fries were absolutely the best part of our meal.
Overall the meal came to be about $30 for the platter and sides, and fed two adults. We felt that while the food was good, it was a little more than what we had wanted to spend for what we got.
Overall, a great experience with good food. We will be back when the occasion permits.

They put a little bit too much sauce on the ribs.

The food is good but the portions were smaller and over priced compared to other BBQ places, especially the $5 add on for the brisket.
My wife and I are from Alabama and this is the first BBQ place in the entire state of Utah that actually reminds us of southern bbq. My wife had the pulled pork which was moist and flavorful. I had the brisket, and while the menu says it includes the ends that can be a bit fatty, it was the perfect blend of fat and meat to create an amazing taste, just like the south. The cornbread reminded me of my grandmothers cornbread where the cinnamon streusel over the top provides a great flavor to the bread itself. It crumbled like real cornbread and was fantastic. The sweet potato fries also have a hint of cinnamon, giving it just the right kind of flavor without compromising the yam itself. The beans had the most delicious smoke flavor, with a hint of sweetness and meat chunks that would make anyone craving a sweet protein to enjoy every bite. The BBQ sauce was great too, and if you like a little bit of spicy go for the jalabama sauce. It is the perfect spicy sauce for just about any of their meats, especially the chicken. It was a quaint location, again reminding me of the south. It even had a broken window that seemed quite nostalgic. I am sure there is a story there so maybe the owner can share that. Overall, I can’t wait to come back and enjoy a piece of home once again. Definitely going to bring my best friends for dinner in the very near future.
Parking: We had no issues finding a spot and it was great to go right in!

My girlfriend and I had a great experience at The Smoking Apple. The brisket and chicken were packed with flavor, though they initially arrived barely warm. When we asked if they could heat it up, the staff couldn’t have been nicer—they promptly got us freshly heated portions that were absolutely spot-on. The fries were a standout—crispy, flavorful, and exactly how I like them. I do not enjoy soggy fries and these were done to perfection! And as a bonus, they have Apple Beer on tap, which happens to be one of my all-time favorites. It’s those little details that make a place memorable. Overall, a delicious meal and a place I’d recommend!
