I had an amazing experience at Ginza Japanese Shabu Shabu! The place is clean, cozy, and the atmosphere is really relaxing. I especially loved the All You Can Eat sushi — everything tasted fresh and delicious, with a great variety of nigiri, rolls, and appetizers. The staff was super friendly and attentive, always smiling and ready to help. Definitely a must-visit spot for anyone who loves sushi and Japanese cuisine!

My son talked my into trying Ginza Japanese Shabu Shabu for lunch. It was awesome! It is a fixed price all you can eat with three options. We did the basic hot pot.

You can order 10 items at a time including broth, noodles, meat, vegetables, etc. You cook it in broth or on a grill built into the table. The server was helpful and attentive.

We had a great lunch and enjoy sooner good conversation while we enjoy the tasty food.

I am really bummed. I went with a group of people to go eat to celebrate our wedding and me and a friend ended up ordering 9 (sets of 3: 27 pieces total) salmon sashimi that never showed up, and 9 pieces of salmon nigiri. We waited the whole 2 hour limit and it never came. Meaning I paid $31 plus for 6 pieces of nigiri. When we asked the server if the food was coming, she was sweet but very dismissive and we never got a straight answer. The food we did get tasted amazing though. This was my first experience here, so maybe it isn't always like that..but I don't think I'd recommend it.

Been to a lot of hot pot places and hands down it’s Kuchu Shabu not this place.

Every time I go, the place is pretty much dead. The owner has completely lost the plot it’s embarrassing.

The ordering system is so complicated and just absolutely silly especially in a large group. And I’m sure it’s not fun for the server or anyone else having to listen to the server monologue about the strict and complicated ordering process. I love hot pot and this is unfortunately the only place that has hot pot close by. So I have formulated a strategy that I will share.

So I sit down and it’s 5 items per 10
minutes.

So I order chopsticks, a plate, a drink, sesame sauce, and another sauce.

wait 10 minutes...

order some ginger, wasabi, a cup of rice, hot pot broth, extra hot pot broth.

wait 10 minutes…

Order noodles and a variety of veggies.

Wait 10 minutes…

Order some meat and some sushi.

Finally now have everything and can eat!!! But holy flying chicken! Picture not knowing this and slapping your forehead because you have to wait 10 minutes for sauce or a cup of water.

They should just have a standard plate of veggies and sauces that comes with every order and let the customer simply order the meat and broth type. Done! Why did the owner spend money on tablets that the whole table fights for? Just give everyone a simple menu! The complexity of the ordering process and variety of options is making this a nightmare for the customer, the server, and the kitchen.

Your food is fine. I mean, you could add some Wagyu to the menu and charge extra for it but no you need 5 varieties of lettuce instead it doesn’t seem like the owner enjoys making money. Also your sushi is always falling apart. The more you rinse your rice, the more sticky it will become, so tell your intern rice maker to rinse it till the water is clear.

Side note, the music has always been just bizarre. One time it was like 70s arcade room type music and the next time it was deep relaxing spa music. I get what they’re thinking on the surface with spa music, but it doesn’t work it’s just weird. Just please, no music or just some simple quite traditional Japanese shamisen! I swear I wouldn’t be surprised if the next time I came in they had some dramatic Hans Zimmer playing.

The restaurant has some cool interior design, but the owner just bought it that way when it was Momo’s and it’s gonna close just the same.

Oh, and good job replacing your high school cafeteria metal spoons with traditional chawanmushi’s. Holy moly.

Great food and experience. It was so good!!! Just wish they weren’t closed on Wednesdays. For some reason those are the days we end up wanting to go there the most.

Good food but DO NOT TIP. All of the top goes back to the restaurant not the workers.

Horrible service, team not prepared, sushi never came and drinks were all wrong. Don’t go there. Not recommended.

We went to Ginza for our anniversary this year and we were so impressed! A very chic atmosphere and helpful employees. The food was delicious! We loved having the variety of the bbq and the hot pot! A tip to keep in mind when choosing to eat here, there is parchment paper on top of the hot plate. Cook your food on top of the paper! (We weren’t told to keep it on and almost smoked out the restaurant) 🫠 Besides our user error, we wholeheartedly enjoyed eating here and can’t wait to go back!
