April 23, 2024 1:30 p.m. open sign is on. As we are walking up to the door, they turn the sign off and lock the door. Not so much as stick your head out and apologise. As it turned out, it was probably a good thing. Ate at the cafe at the San Juan in. The food was great, and Chilley was an Awesome server. Best service in the past 2 weeks of travelling.
Service: 1
Magnifique !! Vue sur le canyon,, piscine extérieure
This place, next to hotel is closed indefinitely…..as we discovered when we check into the hotel. Would have been a good idea to inform people of this.
Food was great. Service is hit-or-miss.

Everything in this town, except the gas station appeared to be closed. COVID victim, I suppose. The Mexican Hat rock was interesting and there's a nearby State Park (Gooseneck State Park), that is worth traveling to - if you aren't too far :)
Food was great. Service is hit-or-miss.
Restaurantji Recommends
Fantastic big clean rooms lots of history...family run by a great family...attatched to the swinging grill steakhouse
Very friendly, food was terrific. Great Navajo taco and burger (spend the extra $2 and get the fry bread bun!). Highly recommend!
I ate there recently and had a a great bacon cheeseburger and delicious butter and honey fry bread. The hamburger meat was shaped by hand from ground beef, and the fries were fresh. The bacon was freshly fried, not pre-fried and packaged. I learned from the menu that the Navajos first began making fry bread on The Long Walk when they were forced to leave their lands and walk to their internment at Bosque Redondo. They made unrisen bread from the flour given to them by the soldiers. The service was efficient, and the server was very attentive. Be sure to stop in when you are in Mexican Hat, Utah. The dining area was clean and designed with good lighting and Southwestern decor.
We went with our friends to Hat Rock Cafe. Brand new chefs and staff. Amazing food! I had a Swiss and Mushroom burger. I’ve had S&M lots of places and this is by far the best. Large 1/3 lb burger Mmmmm!! The service was professional and friendly and even more rare they were attentive. Gotta give them Five Stars!
