The food and atmosphere is very good. We ordered the halibut and ribeye special, along with two of the drinks on special. We were a bit surprised that each cocktail cost $48. We most likely would not have ordered it if we knew. However, our fault for not asking the price of the drink on special beforehand.

I would have loved to give this restaurant a good review because I hold it im great memory from a stay long time ago (2012). Unfortunately, at the night we ate there, neither in terms of service nor food has the River Grill Restaurant been up to par with establishments in a similar price range. Not only was our order mixed up and we ended up sharing one starter which on top of that didn't come as stated on the menu. My main course, a $52 Pork Chop, was very dry and chewy. Our experience makes me wonder where the raving reviews come from.

Staff was super nice, so was the view! Portions however were extremely small, quality was so so, and pricing extremely high. Expect to already pay 50$ for a breakfast with all the extra fees they’re adding to the bill.

While traveling through UT I got to try a lot of great restaurants but this topped my list for quality and taste. The setting for the restaurant (which is part of the hotel/ranch is gorgeous.) Although, we went on a cold spring night and weren't able to sit outside by the Colorado River, there was excellent views from inside to enjoy, which we did. I ordered the divine butternut squash bisque. It was creamy with a hint of anise which really gave it an interesting pop to it. For a main dish, I ordered the herb stuffed chicken. It had a great flavor and was juicy. Chicken is so hard to make shine, but they really did execute an amazing dish with this chicken meal.

Hands down the worst service experience we've ever had. Came here for Thanksgiving dinner which was a buffet. Not too complicated for a buffet, service would only be to bring drinks and take away plates and bring the check. No, none of that happened. We didn't get refills on any drinks in the hour and 45 minutes we were there. Note, the amount of time spent was not by our choice. We were completely done eating after 45 minutes since it was self serve buffet. No dishes were cleared off our table at all. Our water glasses sat empty and were only about 4 ounces to begin with. Really wanted some coffee, but no. Finally after we'd waited another 45 minutes, we went to the hostess stand to ask for our check. Surprise, 15 min later, we received our check that has an automatic 20% gratuity added on! So our meal for 3 people with no drinks and no table service was $385! For a nice meal with good service like we expected, that would have been fine, but this was absolutely the worst service we have ever experienced and even after they were told, they didn't care at all.

Love the beautiful views of the mountains and Colorado river that lasses through the restaurant. Had a bavetta sirloin steak and wine (shirah) for dinner, all very good!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Nice view, but the menu misrepresents the food that is served. They overpromise and under deliver. On a recent night we ordered steak with grilled peaches and cherry sauce. The waitress said the peaches were fresh. When the steak arrived, not only were there no peaches or cherry sauce, but they substituted A1 steak sauce and capers out of a jar. The rolls reminded me of the Pepperidge Farm rolls of my youth that my grandmother served - dense and gummy, so much for fine dining! Go elsewhere.

We drove to Castle Valley for sightseeing, but couldn't find a restaurant there for dinner. This restaurant was close to Castle Valley, conveniently located by the scenic road and the Colorado River. The food was fresh and Was cooked tastely. We enjoyed the food and the scenery very much.

Very nice restaurant, quite chic. We finally ate raw vegetables and normal dishes. No meat in barbecue sauce or other American dishes that we are not used to. There we offer you delicious fish, chicken or even delicious homemade desserts. The prices are very high but the setting near Colorado is superb. Be careful, however, we impose a 20 percent service charge on you, then taxes, and then you should still put some tips, I think that when you pay 10 dollars for water. The espresso coffee at 8 dollars and the cocktail at 10 dollars we have already exceeded the budget. However, we had a good meal.

this service. could not order drinks because she was too busy with the food, while the whole place was empty. we did not get spoons with the soup. we were asked how we wanted the steaks. we asked medium, they tasted as well done as the sole of our shoes. when we asked something about it we got little reaction. afterwards a 44% tip was added because there were more than 6 of us; that is normal here. but not when you get this service and this food.
