Went for lunch today 3-2-24 and an awesome experience - lots of parking - located between Nordstrom $ Macey's - lots of parking since it's near a mall entrance! The service people deserves a 5+ rating - you order & pay at the counter but they bring your order to your table! They will bring water & cups & refills to your table and offer needed silverware! We came for an early lunch but discovered they just changed to opening a hour later at noon! No problem they were as kind & apologetic and allowed us to wait at a table & even offered water ! I got their lunch exclusive- calabrese focaccia- A focaccia sandwich filled with spicy salami tomatoes mozz cream - very very yummy and can't wait to have it again! It's only served until 2 pm so come on early to try their lunch specials! Everything looks so good - we'll be back for more great service & yummy food. It's well worth the try you won't be disappointed!

There's something inherently strange about BASTA. Pasteria. Situated on the exterior wall lots at Fashion Place mall, it exudes a ditzy aura. Yet, once inside, you're greeted with a strange sorta cafeteria feel. The menu is difficult to read with small font, and placed away and to the left of the cashier. I had to take steps back a few times just to recall what I wanted to order. The cashier said that the tables are full service. Yet, there aren't any waiters. Just a busser that seemed confused and overwhelmed. We were served our main course before our appetizers. We were served a coke that we didn't order. The table behind us got a cocktail that was surely ours. We had to remind the busser that our order was missing twice. My friend was served 10 minutes before my order arrived. This doesn't feel like a full service restaurant, and BASTA shouldn't pretend that they are. It's a mess. The food is serviceable, but for the price there are much better places. I dare say that I preferred Cheesecake Factory over BASTA.

Absolutely LOVED basta! 100/10 would come here again. The food was incredible and was very affordable for the quality. The service was amazing! It's fast casual, but it's as if you are sitting down and being waited on anyway. I had the Pappardelle Genovese and it was SO GOOD. The focaccia is delicious and so fresh. I also tried my friends Rogatoni Vodka and ended up getting one to go. Absolutely love this place. I will be back as many times as I can!

Basta offers a variety of authentic Italian dishes -- pizzas, pastas, calzones, focaccia, etc. There's a fair amount of seating available inside, though tables are smaller, so it might not be best for larger groups. I thought the gnocchi sorrentina was fantastic--the sauce was out of this world, and the gnocchi was cooked very well. The staff was friendly and checked in on us throughout the meal. It's an interesting concept for a restaurant because the menu and ordering process makes it feel like a fast casual type restaurant, but the dining experience feels much more like a regular restaurant, and that might contribute to the prices (which seem to be slightly high for a fast casual restaurant). I'd probably return again to get more pasta and try a calzone, which sounded amazing.

The food wasnt great, the tomato sauce was very watery for the whole table, and the place was weirdly stinky.

I thought it was a little pricey but it’s comparable to Olive Garden but my fettuccine was actually way better. The noodles are freshly made and so is the focaccia. After eating my leftovers I decided it was absolutely worth it. I tried to go back on a Thursday at 3:30 and it was closed. Hopefully it’s not out of business.Vegetarian options: Most pasta comes without meat.Parking: It’s near a popular mall entrance so you might not find the best spot

Basta. I am a pasta lover, part time carb connoisseur. Endurance athlete so eat carbs round the clock. Let me start by saying the noodles, the pasta itself, might be the highest quality, best pasta I've ever had. You can tell it's hand crafted, unique recipes. The qualms I had: The lack of protein options to add to the pasta sauce was disappointing. As much as I love pasta I don't want to go have an entire meal of straight carbs, some meat or veggie additions would be great and I'd be happy to pay for it. The atmosphere was a bit lack luster, looks like a fun trendy atmosphere on their promotions but was a bit of a black rectangle once actually inside. Lastly, just for managements information. I did watch the cook text on his phone with gloves on then proceed to handle mine and others food. Not the most appealing service. Overall: 10/10 pasta. Probably won't be back much until I can make it a more complete meal with additions to the pasta.

So far I can only vouch for the gnocchi, but it was delicious. My wife and I tried both of the varieties offered and they were tasty. I hope to come back and try more menu items in the future.

Small portions and overpriced. The bread and the balsamic reduction in the olive oil was the best part of our meal.

The food was gross, mediocre at best, very expensive and not a lot of food. Couldn’t eat the eggplant parmigiana it was nasty. It’s not worth the money, time, or taste. Save yourself the trip to the toilet.

We were so excited to try Basta. As much as I wanted it to be a 5 Star, it just wasn't quite there for me. We went around 8pm on a Friday night and it wasn't very busy, however, the service was pretty slow. The food was good, but I think I would try something different next time. We had the Chicken Parm - we didn't realize until it came out that it didn't come with noodles (our fault), so we ended up ordering some Alfredo as well. We also tried the Pappardelle Genovese (red wine short rib ragu) and the Mozz and Prosciutto. Everything was decent! It just was not quite as good as I was anticipating. It's a great atmosphere and I love the decor. It's moody and feels like a cool new spot. I will definitely look through other reviews and give it another try. For now, I'm comfortable giving it a 4!

I’ve spent hundreds on “Italian” and this is damn near some of the most authentic Italian you’ll find in Utah. The food is so, so good and very affordable! My family was Sicilian and so are these guys — they know what they’re doing! The service is so hospitable. Never change! Don’t change your recipe, don’t change your service!
