My husband and I went to Bombay Palace for a Valentine brunch. This is an amazing restaurant with truly authentic Indian food and we have been here several times last year. We ordered lamb Boti Masala, chicken Tandoori, garlic naans and vegetable samosas. Then we found out the naans were not the garlic naans we ordered, instead they were just regular naans in the menu, so I told the waiter if we could have what we ordered. He left to the kitchen, then the owner came out and let us know he would look into it. I thought if they insisted us to take the naans we didn't order since we already bit a couple on the plate, we were fine too. About 15 minutes later, we thought they forgot it, then the owner had the waiter bring out the garlic naans we originally ordered. What really makes this place special is the owner, we can tell he truly cares about his customers and wanted them to enjoy the fresh dishes. Highly recommended!

I can't say enough good things about Bombay Palace. The food is great and the staff take care of you on every level. I've eaten here for months and have a great experience each time. I've been fortunate enough to meet the owner and his staff, all hard working and genuine people. Highly recommend!

Staff was amazingly kind and helpful. And the food was absolutely delicious. I love taking leftovers but I didn't want to leave a speck behind. If I hadn't been in public I would have liked the bowls!!

Stopped in for lunch with co-worker, this was my first time. Comfortable setting, service was standard. Took a while to get our food but it was worth the wait. We ordered multiple items and they were all very tasty. Dont forget to order some naan bread to go with your meal. I would recommend this restaurant, I will be going back for more yummy meals. Thank you.

From the moment you walk into Bombay Palace in Murray, you feel welcomed by warm lighting, hints of Indian music in the background, and a promise of something special to come. This place delivers not just a meal, but a rich, sensory dive into Indian cuisine — and it largely succeeds.

Food & Flavors (★★★★★)
The menu at Bombay Palace is ambitious in the best possible way. Standouts include the Chettinad lamb, which the chef himself recommends — it carries a bold, earthy spice profile that sets it apart in a sea of sweeter masalas. The shrimp coconut korma is another masterstroke: creamy and smooth, the coconut doesn’t overpower the shrimp, and the balance is spot-on. The Bombay lemon soda is deceptively simple but refreshing, with just enough spice and citrus to surprise.

Rice served alongside the dishes is fragrant and flavorful, not just filler. And for classic favorites like butter chicken and samosas, patrons consistently rave about the authenticity and generosity of portions.

Service & Ambiance (★★★★☆ to 5★)
Staff are frequently described as friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in giving a great dining experience. Filtered water is served, and staff often check in to ensure everything is to your liking. The interiors are clean and welcoming, with the kind of décor and atmosphere that lets you feel you’re stepping into a slice of India without leaving Utah.

That said, as with many popular restaurants, waits can occur, especially on busy evenings. If you go during peak times without a reservation, allow some extra time.

Value & Consistency (★★★★)
Compared to some more basic Indian take-out joints, Bombay Palace aims higher — and for many, it justifies that with quality ingredients, thoughtful spice layering, and standout dishes. Some reviews have flagged that a particular visit didn’t live up to expectations or that flavor was lacking. But the overarching consensus leans strongly positive: most diners leave impressed, planning their next visit.

Final Thoughts
If you’re in the Salt Lake / Murray area and seeking a robust Indian dining experience, Bombay Palace is a must-try. The Chettinad lamb and shrimp coconut korma alone make the trip worthwhile. Pair them with fragrant rice and perhaps a refreshing lemon soda, and you’ve got a meal that’s both comforting and adventurous.

If I were giving a star-rating, I’d land around 4.5 out of 5 — strong in almost every category, with just some room for occasional consistency improvements.

Very uneven quality. The biryani there is absolutely outstanding, perhaps the best in town. Pretty much all other dishes are average at best. They are all fairly blend, with the same similar flavor.

I made a reservation for a work dinner for 12 people. I called 2 times to confirm that this reservation had been made. On the day we showed up they acted like they weren't going to have enough space for a group that size even though the restaurant was empty except for 2 other families eating there. Mind you, this was not a Friday or Saturday night. It was a Tuesday. Instead of just helping the few of us who had arrived get seated they left us in the waiting arra for 15min, and then once they seated us they never stopped by to take our orders. We had to flag them down. They assumed more people from our group would show up but never stopped to communicate with us. The food was AWESOME. I would totally come back for the food. But don't bring a large group or make a reservation. Its better for a smaller group like 2-4 people.

Not a lot of reviews mention tandoori chicken or onion naan which were excellent (better than garlic naan). Though everything we ordered was great!

I have dined here many times and the food is always delicious. I took an out of town visitor there for lunch today and was told that they would only do a take out order. We arrived around 1:40 pm. I was dismayed that we couldn’t be seated since it was prior to their closing time and because I had bragged this place up to her. We went to a different restaurant for our lunch instead. If you want lunch be sure to get there by 1:00
