CAUTION! DO NOT GO HERE! Portions were very small, and when I asked for a little bit more they threatened to charge me extra. Also I believe something in the food was spoiled because my girlfriend’s stomach has been hurting ever since we ate there h and threw all of my salad up the night after we ate here.

Customer service is terrible! The food is put together sloppily. I have walked out on more than one occasion because the place is dirty. Counters are dirty . Many employees but they are slow on making the food. I will not return here as a customer only as a deliverer. Even then I am waiting almost 15 minutes to pick up because they don't prepare the food with any kind of priority.

This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a Costa Vida. When we walked in, the staff were just hanging out at the tables, socializing, and clearly in no rush to help anyone. Despite being first in line, we waited 10 minutes before they even started preparing food to take our order with a ton of unnecessary attitude.

The portions have gotten noticeably smaller, and the salad greens looked old—some even rotting. The tortillas weren’t made yet, and the beans were completely out.

Staff attitude was absolutely unacceptable. Vero, in particular, spoke with an unnecessary amount of attitude, and another young woman without a name tag was outright rude and loud. They were speaking to us like prison wardens—loud, aggressive, and condescending. We weren’t just treated like an inconvenience—we were treated like enemies.

There is clearly a toxic culture or a serious management issue at this location. This wasn’t a case of understaffing or a busy rush—it was laziness, hostility, and complete disregard for customer service.

Food is pretty good. Nothing special but pretty fresh and decent. I will say there were a lot of shady characters hanging out in the parking lot. Not sure if this location is considered in a sketchy neighborhood but definitely some undesirables lurking around on the day we went. My kids liked the kids meals especially the cinnamon tortilla dessert. I had the lime fire chicken or something like that. I think it was the special? Pretty good but a little chincy on the protein. I would try it again. Maybe because it was a Friday evening all the hood rats were milling about, dragging State Street or something...

The worst food I've EVER had at a restaurant. Namely, the grilled chicken!! It was inedible! It tasted like it had been marinated in propane, grilled over rancid meat juice charcoal on a grill that had never been cleaned. Horrible! $28 for the trash. We've been to this location before, but tonight was like, what happened?? The service also was the worst, except for Angel, who greeted us, but after that it was all downhill.

4300 south state is my favorite location for a big reason. I have returned over and over to this location for more years than I dare admit. Tonight was no exception. My order was perfect, my wife asked how much they charged because she thought they had over portioned the grilled chicken. They don’t shout at me, they listen and ask if they aren’t sure what you asked for. Tonight I had a receipt without a rewards scan and the manager corrected the error without a hassle. 10 out of 10, there are three locations closer but none better. Great job.

Some of the staff doesn’t mix the ingredients so the sauces get chunky and the beans get super crusty. You’d think that would be basic training. I don’t want the dry sauce that’s hanging off the ladle in my burrito. Not everyone is bad, but they need to do better training. Makes it less appetizing.

Radio was a bit loud for an empty restaurant, but food is always delightful at this location love it everytime! (Radio was a one time deal)

Their queso is so good, and I loved the strawberry lemonade drink.
