Our food took FOREVER to come out. (roughly 45 min) The portion sizes were extremely small. So small in fact that i had to go taco bell immediately afterwards. I ordered the birria smothered burrito and the birria was rather dry.

Gave us wrong order, enchiladas were made with flour tortillas and were gummy, tacos were mid.

Save your money and go to Chispita for $.50 taco Tuesday

This is the closest to "home cooked" Mexican food we've found in the valley.
It's the best hole in the wall taco shop. Pricing and the service are fair. We visit 2 or 3 times a month. Dont forget, Tuesday and Thursday are free "chips and salsa" days.

Came for lunch, ordered beef enchiladas plate. First the food was very good. It did take a long time for my order to be ready. There were people that ordered after me by at least 15 minutes that got their meal before me. Then I finally get my meal, get to my office and to my surprise it was just the beef enchiladas. No rice and no beans.

At least the enchiladas were very good.

Ok, so I've been coming to La Tormenta since 2020 because of its convenience and because it's one of the few options open on Sunday.Overall, it's a pretty authentic place. But I'm going to just finally admit to myself that this place sucks. Here's why:1. The staff is consistently unfriendly. You go up to the counter with a smile and a hello and they never fail to reciprocate with a "what do you want" face.2. Orders take freaking forever. The average order time is 20 minutes but I've waited as long as 30.3. They consistently get the order wrong. When I say consistently, I mean every single time. If you alter anything, it will be wrong. ? Percent guaranteed. Example: order 2 burritos with no lettuce, and also no onion on one of them = one with lettuce and one with onion. Do not try to alter anything, they can't handle it. Or they can but don't care because the overall mood in the place is indifferent, cheerless and grim.3. As many others have mentioned, many of the items are bland. The tortillas are pretty good but they are super oily for some reason. Again, there's a feel of indifference in the food. When you wait that long for an order at a pay at the counter place, you would think at least the food would be lovingly made and full of flavor. For these experiences and also because the salsa bar is usually out of pico which would help boost the low flavor food is typically empty, I finally admit I don't like La Tormenta. The magical thing about this kind of business is that the same indifference in the customer service and food will apply to reviews. Owners won't read it, won't try harder, and they'll still be swamped with business.

I love their food but they are SOOOOOOO slow! Why does it take 35 min to get nachos? Freak, just let me in the kitchen and I'll microwave my own in 35 seconds! Also they CANNOT for the life of them take an online/phone order properly. How is it that after all these years they haven't figured out a more reliable way to keep track of people's orders than writing them down on a sticky note? Now don't get me wrong, their food is amazing, but their faults outweigh their merits. There really is no reason that a restaurant (which was open during the covid pandemic) can't get to go orders organized correctly. How much more practice does a restaurant need?

I normally don't write reviews but this place was a big disappointment. I ordered a carnitas enchilada with rice and beans. The meat had no flavor and was very greasy that everything was soggy. The grease I think made me sick. The beans and rice had no flavor as well. The best part of the food was the sour cream and soda.

It was pretty good. The prices are pretty good. Several deals under 10 bucks. The rice and beans were good and they gave a lot. Had the taco , tamale, and enchilada combo for 8 bucks, a few more for rice and beans. It filled me up.
Cute little Mexican style restaurant. Happy to come bavk!
