Zhang's Chinese Kitchen

Came here with my family and unfortunately had a very frustrating experience. After we ordered, two meals never came out because they were never rung in. We understand mistakes happen, but those two people waited an additional 30 minutes for their food. The server seemed either new or overwhelmed, and overall the food itself wasn’t great!

When it came time to pay, we were told we could split checks at the register. After paying, we were not given a receipt. Even though service was lacking, we still tipped. As the next family member went to pay, we learned there was already an automatic gratuity applied, meaning we had unknowingly tipped twice.

When we brought this to the attention of the woman at the register, she refused to adjust two of the checks and told us we should have “paid better attention.” She then told the rest of our family that they were fine, but those two checks were not. The tone and delivery were extremely rude. She even lifted the menu, pointed to her eye, and said we should have paid more attention.

Mistakes happen, but the way this was handled was unprofessional and dismissive, which ultimately made the experience much worse than it needed to be.

Food was terrible! But mostly the service was awful!!! The manager lady at the front when we rang out our party of 9 people was soooo rude and disrespectful. It was honestly embarrassing how bad she was! None of us will ever go back plus the food was not good and our waiter forgot two of our orders. Stay away go to the other Zhangs!!

I enjoy low quality greasy Chinese food at times but this is something else.

I ordered the dinner combo with honey crispy pork. I was told there’s no pork and only chicken.
The food came out with hair in it.
Then the chicken was so hard to chew and came out really dry and stringy that it was close to inedible. They told me they could remake it but it would be the same. So they replaced it with Beef in garlic sauce. Which was okay but not good.

Their other location in Ogden is far better. Not sure what’s happening at this establishment.

Overall, would not come here again.

I ordered pork chow mein and this is what I got, which is definitely not chow mein (noodles). I was the only customer there so they didn’t get the order wrong. Happened to someone else 5 years ago apparently according to the reviews. It would have been okay if it at least tasted good, but what I got was bland.

Terrible dining experience for my wife, kid and mom.
Food was soggy, and slimy. drinks were flat and nasty. The chow main looked like a bird vomited it terrible service.
And forcing them to tip even after the food gave them food poisoning. Highly recommend no one gives this place business and find better Chinese alternatives

We waited 10 minutes for someone to come to the table after we were seated. There was only one other couple in the whole restaurant. She didn't bring water so we had to wait for her to go get it. The waitress showed as much enthusiasm as a box of rocks. Prices are way too high for that kind of abysmal service. It's no wonder the place was empty on a Saturday night. We had to ask for steamed rice after the fact. What Chinese restaurant doesn't serve steamed rice with every dish. The food is typical Americanized Chinese. The waitress never returned to ask us if we needed anything else, to offer water refills, or to see if everything was satisfactory. I had to ask for a refill on water. They should move to an all take-out operation because it was clear that's where they focus their resources. The Orange Chicken was like eating a cup of salt.

Food very bland, not what I expected. Should have gotten Panda Express!

We love Zhang's and eat here often. We're seated quickly every time. Food is consistently good and hot. Lunch specials are huge and we always bring some leftovers home for later. I'd highly recommend Zhang's for Chinese food.

We were looking for a new Chinese restaurant to try and Zhang's had an online menu that looked amazing. We went to the North Ogden location at about 6pm on a weekday and the place was almost empty. That should have been a big red flag, but we decided to try it anyway. We all ordered different combination dinners and all of them were very bland. The ham fried rice was made with bologna! Possibly the worst Chinese food we have ever had. The only good thing that I can say about this place is the service was ok. Save yourself from a disappointing meal and go somewhere else.

Orderd at wrong location . Went to pick up order. Asked them to cancel and and i would be willing to reorder. But mgr. Got an attitude , . He was rude and ignorant and would not allow me to reorder. Poor customer service. We will not return . Very un professional.

We ordered takeout on 4/18 and spent $130 for our family of six—and it was, without a doubt, the worst food we’ve ever had. None of us could get past the first bite. The chicken had a strong chemical taste, almost like it was fried in cleaning solution, and some pieces were even raw. Everything was just awful. Please, save your money and your stomach—DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.
