Fun idea, railroad car, diner style. No a/c, slow service, moderate portions. Staff were friendly but distracted. Food quality was above average and taste but negated by the 85 degree inside temp.
This place is great! The food is great! All of it is wonderful the servers and cooks are so friendly aswell as the owner! Great establishment
Fantastic place!! Really friendly and kind staff the food was terrific. I went on a Sunday late morning, only about 15 mins to be seated. You do have to wait awhile before you are served but it is worth the wait to get such a great meal in a great diner
Driven past this little diner so many time and never stopped. Well I stop today and so glad I did. The diner is so cool and the food was very good. I definitely will be back...
This was amazing experience. We came but was closed. The hours at google maps were wrong (I corrected them) this place should be on national monuments list. Incredible history behind it (I won't tell you. You mas go to learn it). The food was great. They have gluten free options. Stuff were more than friendly with us. You see the owner talking with locals and you star feeling like you are between friends in a second
Great experience for celiac people. Almost The entire menu can be made gluten free and all the staff is very acknowledged of gluten. Good was excellent quality.
One of our favorite places to have breakfast and the dinners are delicious!Friday night is prime rib night and there are other specials nightly. Such a great atmosphere and the owners/ chefs Steve and Jen are wonderful as are their staff! It’s worth a trip to experience this cool diner!
always feel right at home, friendly, great food each time we go.
The thing that sets places like this apart from tourist trap dives is the sheer amount of love the owner/employees have for the place. The decor is almost flawless with an attention to detail and focus on atmosphere that you can almost feel. Even the Covid measures haven't dampened the authentic feel of this old fashioned dining experience. The food has a similar feel, authentic and loved. Hearty with flavor and texture that you come to appreciate more and more with every bite. The red potato salad was particularly excellent, and the chef was more than happy to share his recipe. We also had to order a malted milkshake here, and we absolutely weren't disappointed. Prices felt a little high when we ordered, but we left feeling like we got our money's worth. Awesome dining experience, we will be back!
This is a great little place for homemade food and friendly service. We were so full from lunch but didn't want to miss the homemade desserts. We took home strawberry rhubarb crumble and apple pie. Both were delicious. We're going back soon.

If you are ever out in this beautiful area, you have to stop by this awesome roadside restaurant in a historic train car from Road Island. The food is great and the staff is fun. It's like taking a historic ride back to a simpler time. We were amazed at the train car's history and if you ask about it, they will tell you all you want to know. This is a must stop experience.
Food is just okay. It's more of a novelty destination than a place for great food. The Help were friendly.
This is s wonderful roadside restaurant in a train car. The food is wonderful and the staff is courteous. The accommodations are comfortable. You can enjoy a day away from the hustle and bustle. Take a ride through the country and go back to a simpler time.
Great food. Lots to choose from on the menu and the old diner feel is always a big hit. Next time we are in the area will visit again.
We love the breakfasts at the Road island Diner. Their bacon and pancakes are delicious! However, they really need to keep their website updated. After checking their website to make sure they were open, we drove an hour this morning (Sat., Apr. 3) .to eat breakfast there. The website said they were open today from 8:00A.M.-8:00P.M. The website said that the hours might be different tomorrow on Easter Sunday. When we arrived at 9:00A.M., we discovered a note on the door saying they were closed from Apr. 1-Apr. 4. We were so disappointed. Apparently you need to call to verify that they are open because they do not update their website appropriately.
