Edit: Well, I don't know what happened to this place. After cutting back on our donut consumption for a while, we came back for our favorites and everything had changed.

They stopped making some of their best standards and moved to a 'a la minute' model. Which means you're waiting quite a while if you want more than a donut or two. It also means that any glaze they put on is going to immediately run completely off the piping hot donut. So if you like your box glazed and your donut plain, this is the place for you. Sad to see how far they've fallen.

Old review:
I happened to arrive right as a batch of their 'Signature Bismarck' creme filled were finished. I love a good filled donut, and this one was very easily in the top 10 donuts all-time for me. The filling was real vanilla pastry cream, not that oil-based imitation 'creme' they have at larger national chains. The donut was light and fluffy, and just the right balance of sweetness from the sugar on top. But as good as their raised donuts are, hot damn, their *cake* donuts are something else. The Sweet+Salty is a brilliant, perfectly executed dessert. The contrasting flavors enhance one another--it's the reason fries and a milkshake are so good together. The old fashioned was equally delicious--a classic flavor made perfectly.

We went at lunchtime on a Thursday--there was no line and I waited less than a minute for the cream filled to be finished.

If you want to overspend and be severely disappointed, then this is the place for you. I will never go back, the beignets weren't the tasty treat I expected and the prices were outrageous.

I didn’t notice until I came home but my cinnamon donut and apple fritter where burnt. Tasted so gross, waste of my money :(

Doughnuts are meh (I guess they’re good for gluten-free fare) and $4 a pop. The service is friendly and prompt. There isn’t much space to dine in, but that’s understandable: most people get take out.

The most amazing gluten free fritters and donuts!! Holy cow. I can’t explain how delicious it was. They fried the fritter fresh and it came out piping hot, crispy on the outside and super soft on the inside. It was delightful. The best part is they have regular donuts, not just cake donuts like every other gf bakery. Finally!!! You HAVE to try it.

Their gluten free doughnuts are the best I have ever tasted. If I didn't know they were gluten free I would have never known from the taste or texture. Just absolutely amazing. I am glad I don't live too close, I would be there all the time.

The food is definitely five stars. This is coming from someone who doesn’t even like donuts normally

The complaint I have is they’re always out of the things I like. They could make so much more money if they could stock things better. My favorite is crème brûlée and the Take & bake. The awesome thing about the Take & bake is you can cook it in an air fryer and not eat all of the unhealthy oils. My daughter who loves donuts with all her heart thinks the maple donuts are the best she’s ever had. She also really likes the strawberry shortcake one too.

Are you GF? And hate the world because of it? All that is good in the world is restored thanks to Bismarck. We’ve been coming here since they opened, driving an hour round trip because it’s the only doughnut (free of gluten) to even remotely taste good. Service is always friendly and quick. The made-to-order means you SHOULD eat these in store. Something about it fresh fried.

I absolutely loved the donuts I got here. I ate them already, so I didn't even share them. I wish they had the beignets when I went, but they were out when I went. I love that this place is dedicated gf!
