Had a wonderful family dinner for 18 and ate in. They took great care and brought the food to us. The brisket, chicken, pulled pork and sausage were excellent. The ribs were dry and not easy to eat. (I've had ribs here in the past that were PERFECT, so this was an anomaly.) For groups like ours, it would have been helpful to have water pitchers. The seating is fine for lunches with adult friends, but having a family event brought attention to the stairs and some tables and tablecloths that could use updates. All that said, we love 5 Star and will be back!

This feels like a good ol fashioned food place! The food was TASTY! We tried chicken, turkey, brisket, and all were delicious and MOIST! :P
There is an upstairs with a sauce fridge, and drinks, best of all a stage with LIVE MUSIC on Saturday! The Amigos played for us and they were great! This is an awesome place and we will be back!

The soda fountain was good, they also have many sauce options. Unfortunately the meat was cold by the time we walked over to our table. The sides were good but small. Pictured is the Student plate, their header option. Everything is $12+. Definitely a popular spot for guys night.

Waiting 30 minutes for a 3 meat plate takeout is ridiculous. When I asked how much longer, he went around the corner and pulled it off the shelf where it had been sitting. The lady who took my order had to have walked right past me to put it there! The food is not that good. I won’t be back.

Enjoyable but not incredible. Definitely try it out for yourself. The Cajun sausage was good and the turkey as well. The potato salad was a bit eggy but I liked that.

Pros: The sides were so good!! We loved the mashed potatoes, fried funeral potatoes, and the baked beans. We also loved how big the banana pudding was, it was soo good! We loved how there were lots of different sauces to choose from, especially the Alabama sauce. The employees were very friendly. The environment is cute in that it's an old house turned restaurant, and there is lots of parking.

Cons: The ordering process was kind of confusing, we weren't really sure where to start and then they were trying to make our orders all at once instead of one meal at a time and it was a little bit stressful. We paid extra to get brisket on top of a pretty expensive meal, and it was so so dry. My husband literally broke his knife trying to cut it. We were also really sad that around 5-5:30 pm when we went, they were out of half of their meats. Like, the dinner rush is just barely starting and you only have brisket and pork? The barbeque sauces were good, but the bottles were in need of a good clean. There was also a really bad sewer smell that made the experience kind of unpleasant.

My mom is so kind and polite everywhere she goes, but she is a Brazilian woman, and she told me once one of the workers heard her speak Portuguese and they didn’t answer her or treat her kindly. If you’re a person of color, I suggest maybe avoiding this place. If you come here and you’re a white redneck, you’ll be treated fine.

The food was delicious. The only problem was that it was definitely a bit on the cold side.

Food was really good but the portions were a little small. Ordered a family meal and it was adequate for four but not gigantic. The smoked turkey though stole the show! Good experience overall!

Let me start out by saying I rarely leave bad reviews. This warrants one. When you pay $25 a plate, you expect the quality to be good. I’ve eaten here before and have always enjoyed it. Tonight wasn’t great. I paid $50 for brisket that was all fat. I’m not exaggerating. Both plates were complete fat. Total waste of money. I ordered to go, so I didn’t even get to watch them make it, otherwise I would have spoke up. Highly doubt I come back. So essentially I paid $50 for sides and cornbread.
