We had never been here before, it was our first time and we loved it! Great food! Great service! Great atmosphere! Dennis was very professional and kind!
First time, I ordered the 3 meat plate. The teriyaki chicken, teriyaki steak, and Katsu chicken. With Teri sauce, Teri chili sauce and Katsu sauce. The meal was good, the chicken was great. The steak was worse than jerky. It had a fat ribbon on each piece and was so chewy I couldn’t have more than 3 pieces. The sauces were great!
The katsu chicken sandwich was wonderful. Just enough sauce, not dripping, and the bun was crispy on the outside, soft in the middle.Fries were fresh, crisp, and just right, and generously portioned. The second sandwich, kahlua pork, had a bun which was a bit too soft/soaked, but the meat was in point.
When an experience is amazing, a review is deserved! Our experience at Kokonut Island grill in Orem was awesome!Ace, the regional manager was just absolutely awesome! Very kind and considerate! We were talking and one of his employees may have made a mistake and the way he handled it was extremely professional and kind. And not to mention that the food was spot on!!Great place to dine! And wonderful atmosphere! Thanks, Ace and company for the great experience!
I was the only person in the restaurant at 4:30pm today and had an interesting conversation with Ace. I got a free piece of their delicious cake in exchange for an honest review, totally worth it.(Shown in my picture) The katsu is awesome, and I genuinely love the teriyaki chicken and would choose it 10/10 times over Mo Bettah’s. The Mac salad is great. Why is this review 4/5? The rice is like mush :( and the meal is more expensive than if I get the same thing at mo bettah’s—which I could argue has better katsu that they don’t charge extra for. Also, (pictured) why is the katsu cup full and the teriyaki cup only halfway full? Kinda confusing. We felt that lack of Teri sauce. In conclusion, I’m a fan of Kokonut island grill, but there are some small things that they messed up on, despite not having a lot of business while I was there. :(I’m rooting for your success! I will be back because I think there are elements of Kokonut Island grill that are elite to Mo Bettah’s
First off I want to start by saying this places food is amazing. I had the Steak plate and wow the steak is good. The staff are Personable, Genuine, Friendly, and Joyful. I have never really write a review for a restaurant, but I can say that Kokonut Island Grill went above and beyond with my expectations and they have definitely earned it. Give this place a try you will not be disappointed. I know I will be coming back to support throughout in the near future.
Kid-friendliness: The Staff here are amazing, as soon as I walk in I am happily greeted by Kokonuts happy staff members.
Right off the bat I just want to say the this places food is amazing. I hate to say it because I love Mo Bettas, But this is a lot more better. The Staff are amazing and super friendly and Personable. Give this place a try and you won’t be disappointed. I have also never left a review for a restaurant before this, Kokonut Island Grill has earned it.
Yesterday my daughter and I ate lunch at your Orem location. What a wonderful experience we had. The food was superb and the service went above and beyond. Marnie was our server, she was great! She saw to our every need. She was busy cleaning the entire time we were there except when help other patrons. We will be back!
The food met my expectations, it's pretty similar to other other Hawaiian chains except there are some great additional food options. Honestly I love that I can swap the Mac salad out for a green salad. Plus the employees were great. One employee, I think named Duncan, was excellent.
I love kokonut.. or the Provo one. This one was ran by teenagers who have not been trained well. As a Polynesian, We take pride in our food and the presentation, so I’m very disappointed to say the least. I waited 15 min in a DRIVE THRU for a kalua pork sandwich meal (I was the only one in line and there was no one in the restaurant, I saw). The guy drops my change when giving it to me and just stares at it out the window saying, “oops”..No biggy. However, when I got My food I was really upset as it looked like they just threw it all in a paper bag. The burger wasn’t even wrapped well and the oils from the food seeped through the bag and ruined my car seat. And they didn’t even offer sauce for my fries. Will never come back to this establishment.

Loved the food! And loved the service. Big shout out to Marley and Lance. They were so hospitable and went the extra mile to make our lunch great! 100% would recommend.
We had a great experience coming here for the first time. Manu suggested the Ahi Poke, and it was great. My wife’s shrimp plate was very nice and fresh as well. Both portion sizes were huge. I would recommend. Thanks Manu!
Their fries were going to take a bit and I was in a hurry so I decided not to get them but they were so nice and so polite and ended up giving me one of their delicious guava cakes because I ended up having to wait for a few minutes. Really nice people! The Kahlua pork sandwich I ordered was also amazing!
I had the Katsu Chicken sandwich and it was a bust. Not good at all. No flavor and cooked very dry. It was an absolute fail for $8.99 for the sandwich alone. I added the French Fries at $3.99 and they were ok but overpriced for the portion you get. I’m not sure if I’ll try the place again but that chicken sandwich was a FAIL.
Decent Hawaiian food. The service was quick. It took 3 employees to figure out how to run a gift card. I ordered a 1 meat plate with katsu chicken, Mac salad and brown rice. I asked for a side of teriyaki sauce to dip my chicken in which made it way better. It would of been to dry with no sauce. It was good though and very filling.
