This was my first time having Peruvian food, and it was divine! 🤩 We got there, and they immediately started loading up our table with 13+ platters 🫨. We had almost every dish, and every single one of them was sooooo good. The purple drink was also so scrummy, would definitely recommend 👍. The raw lime fish was kind of intimidating, but it was perfectly soft and paired deliciously with the herbs 🌿. Every type of potato we had was so unique and perfectly cooked. We had an amazing time and felt so stuffed but so happy. They brought out ice cream that is from a fruit you can only find in Brazil that looks like a mango, and an avocado had a baby that tastes like dates. Hands down some of the best ice cream I've ever had. And I've been to Italy, so that's saying something 🤨. For our group of 3 boys and 3 men, we had about 2 plates left over, but we're kind of all biggies, so I would recommend getting like 1.5 plates per 14+ person. Also if you get the raw fish stuff(sorry, I can't name any of the dishes' names, I would butcher them if I tried😭) you have to chug the leftover liquid left in the dish to become a real man 👨 💪. I heard some of the craziest stories here, and it was such a blast! The girl who served us(sorry again, I don't know her name ☹️) was so nice and needs a raise. She genuinely seemed like she really liked working there, and the atmosphere was inspiring. There was a couple there as well, and they looked chill, and it's giving they are going to get engaged, but the girls going to break it off. Sorry if that's crude, but it was just the vibes I was getting. If you are reading this, you know who you are couple girl 🫵. Anyway, would low-key trust all the people here with my life and this was legit probably top 3 restaurants I've ever been to. And I've been to France 🇫🇷 🧐. GO HERE! 😤🤌🤌

My wife and I absolutely love this place. The food is incredible but the service is even better. They are kind and quick with their service. We always feel appreciated when we come in! The food really is amazing though, the most authentic Peruvian place in Utah in my opinion.

AMAZING family restaurant, the food was out of this world and the waiter (the son of the owners) was soo helpful, he recommended his favorite dish and then found out our tastes so he could tailor his recommendations. Very thoughtful and again the food was amazing. Everything we tried was next level.

We’ve been going to La Carreta for many years and have always loved the food and the kindness their servers and management bring to the community. We recently got married and chose them to cater our wedding and we have gotten nothing but rave reviews about how delicious their food is. I seriously recommend this place for any event or just a good quiet meal with friends and family. La Carreta’s food will always be a comfort meal for both me and my husband. Eat here and keep eating here!!

15 years ago it was really tasty, but now the food has no taste, mediocre ingredients, I will not go back or mend
Although the restaurant it self was very clean and had a very nice aesthetic the food is disgusting the food was undercooked and didn’t taste how it normally should it was to salty I don’t recommend this restaurant, food was very bad and overpriced no hate to the cooks maybe work on your cooking skills tho
We loved everything about this place!! The food was seasoned perfectly, I would definitely recommend!!

What a lovely, clean establishment. It was pretty quite during the lunch hour, but didn't diminish the good vibes. The food was absolutely fantastic, and came out very quick considering it's made fresh! My boyfriend and I ordered the fried rice and Lomo Saltado, which was hot and delicious. Nothing too soggy, but a very rich and moist dish. 10/10 we're coming back to try more!
Went over for dinner while staying in the area. On the weekends, they have the Peruvian roasted chicken (Pollo a la Brasa), and since I've had this many times before in other Peruvian restaurants, tried it. It was just OK, the seasoning was really only on the skin and not the chicken. My wife really liked her chicken skewers. The server was friendly, but auctioned off the food and didn't check back until we were done. Price are not bad for what you get, and the building is nice.
La Carreta is the best Peruvian restaurant I've been to. Granted, it's the only Peruvian restaurant I've eaten at, but it's still fantastic.
My go-to is the Saltado Mixto. It's got great flavor and is a hearty portion of food. It's family run, and I love the atmosphere and vibe. It's never very busy, and the service is always good. I'm definitely not the expert on Peruvian food, but anytime you put a protein with rice over French fries, you know it's gonna be good.
The only downside is the prices are steep, even for inflation. You get plenty of food, but it doesn't pass my price to satisfaction ratio. Until I try another Peruvian restaurant, this will remain my favorite.
Finally made it back here after about 7 years of dreaming about it and it was just as tasty as I remembered! Got the Lomo Sataldo and chicha morado and even though I’m stuffed I’m drooling thinking about it. The table chips and salsa are a bit addicting so come ready to enjoy your full meal. Great service too!
Decent food but overpriced for the quality and portion size. We tried using their starving student card discount, but they wouldn't honor it.
