my best friend and I usually come here. It is our favorite, but this last time we came in it was unfortunately our last time coming in! upon our arrival an employee took a metal spoon out of the front in a little cloth cubby that she had where they have papers and what not she held it out to make sure it wasn't dirty, wiped something off with her hand, bare hand may I add!! and give it to a customer. I saw an employee who was working in the back on her cell phone and then touching the food with those same gloves, At the moment we got sat down we asked our server if drinks were included with the lunch special. We do not mind paying an extra three dollars for drinks, but we were upset at the fact that she said that they were included with the lunch special and then got charged for it very unprofessional! that same employee was checking out customers and giving people their food with those bare hands where they are touching money, and front counters and other things!we also did notice that some employees were talking about us and our food as well.

The past 2 times I’ve been to this location, I’ve gotten food poisoning. I haven’t had that issue at any of their other stores, so I would just avoid this one.

The food was good. Over all was not terrible until it came to paying for the bill. A tip was added which I’ve seen other restaurants do before but it was more than the average amount. I asked why that much was added and the woman at the front just pointed to a small paper claiming they add that to all parties. I asked for it to be refunded as they never let us know or asked for a tip, I was just handed a receipt with the tip on it. I told them I would like to be able to pick the percent I would like to leave as the amount they added wasn’t even the average. I was simply told that wasn’t going to happen with no willingness to compromise on me giving a fair tip. Will not be going back and do not recommend the staff there tonight. The customer isn’t always right but I was hoping compromise was an option. I was very much dismissed.

Love this Ombu location. Owners and staff are very friendly. I always feel welcome especially how they remember us and are very attentive. Food is delicious, restaurant is clean and very well organized. Great selection of food!! The ONLY Ombu I will go to. Thank you for the cup gift for Thanksgiving you’re so kind.

I should've made this post a while ago, but better late than never. This place is home to many of my good memories. From being with my fanily to hanging out with friends, this place has always been one of my top choices to go eat at. One of my favorite dishes is the sesame balls, they prepare them better than any other restaurant I've been to. Out of all the buffets I've been to in Orem, this is one is the best deal at the very least during lunchtime, dinnertime menu / cost is debatable. Also it is very fun to cook your food yourself, and they also have foods you don't have to cook and come ready to eat. I think they can also aide you in your cooking but I've personally never bothered asking. Ive been coming here for years and have watched them go from making you order directly, to having mark down your order, renovating, and now you can order on a tablet at your table. The quality has never subsided, however they do being out less food than they used to. this is good however for both the restaurant and the customer, since you don't get way too much and the restaurant doesn't wait. staff have always been kind and respectful.
Food was great. Service took a while to bring ordered items. We did have a few people there so maybe thats it. Cost is $26 person all you can eat. They added gratituity and tipped themselves. Came out to $78 for 2 people. So 3 stars because mixed feelings about the place

This place used to be my absolute favorite all you can eat KBBQ. I don’t know what’s happened, but the menu has changed/less options and it feels like the quality of the products has gone down. The prices are up to $27 per person (as of AUG 2025) which is tough considering it was $21 only 3 years ago.
At this point/due to the above reasons, I can no longer vouch for this place over other nearby KBBQ options. That being said, it’s still good, just not great like it used to be.

Service is fine, but the sauces are all wrong. Galbi tastes nothing like it should, sweeter than normal like a Hawaiian bbq. Bulgogi was not marinated well. Tasted bland. Sauce for the gyoza was disgusting, idk what’s going on. Stop the fusion. Do traditional, normal sauces that the meats are supposed to be. I did not enjoy the meats at all.
Lettuce and kimchi soup were both good.
I’m sorry but I wont be coming back. The flavors were terrible and I didn’t eat all I could eat.

Ombu KBBQ always treats us so well! The food is absolutely fantastic, and worth every penny of the cost! The staff is attentive and kind, and are committed to giving you a good experience. I highly recommend the Hawaiian brisket, spicy kalbi, and the fried chicken wings. Literally everything is delicious!
