I regret not taking pictures, as the food was so beautifully presented. The opening miso soup and Japanese salad were a refreshing start to our meal. My husband ordered the Shrimp Tempura and Sushi, which came with added tempura vegetables, in addition to some tempura shrimp, as well as a bowl of sticky rice. I ordered the Maki Sushi and it tasted amazing. 3 excellent rolls, all raw: California, Salmon, and Tuna! I was thrilled! I made sure to cleanse my palate between each one and I ran out of sliced ginger. I asked my husband if he had any ginger to spare and since he doesn't use, his I got to eat his ginger as well. Yamato has such wonderful ambience, with the Oriental lanterns hanging above, and even the option to sit in more traditional Japanese seating. Best restaurant also plays Oriental music as well. We come here several times a year, and I liked it so much I find decided to review it

If I could give Yamato 10 stars, I would. This is honestly the best sushi in the area. My wife and I are regulars and we have never had a bad experience. The food is consistently incredible. Everything on their menu hits, not a single bad item. If you haven’t tried Yamato, you haven’t lived…like actually! BEST RESTAURANT LITERALLY EVER!

I had a really disappointing experience. I paid for my food even though the order was messed up and no one made an effort to correct it. We also weren’t given any water refills during the meal. I tipped the server who actually helped us, but as we were leaving, a different staff member —who hadn’t served us or done anything to help—approached and demanded a tip. It was unprofessional and made the whole visit uncomfortable.
