This is the worst café Rio I’ve ever been to. My order is never correct. The final straw was when I ordered a bowl and I got home to eat it and there was no meat on it. I live close to this café Rio, but now I drive to the Spanish Fork Café Rio to eat.

Great staff.
The rice was very very undercooked. It was very very crunchy. The last few times it has been undercooked. The tortillas were very dry and a little burnt. For the price you thing the quality would be better.

Not having been to Cafe Rio in years, we stopped in a couple of weeks ago. I really dislike the feeling of getting ripped off at a restaurant. Albeit rare, that's exactly how I felt with this location. Not having frequented in a while, I don't know if this is typical for only this location, or if it is the new normal across ALL locations. Years ago, I don't remember feeling taken advantage of like this.
I ordered the shrimp tacos, and there were only 4 tiny shrimp on each of 2 tacos--barely enough to even know they were there, let alone even taste. At $12.99+tax, it works out to more than $1.50 per little shrimp and over $6 per meager taco.
Sure, there is some beans and rice included on the side, but that is where it is even more ridiculous. It is beans and rice people, and yet you are given enough for I think what ended up as 3 normal bites of beans and 4 bites of rice. It was laughable when you look down in the tin tray and you see these tiny piles of rice and beans...maybe 20 cents worth of food there amidst all the void and empty space of the container.
It doesn't seem like that's the way it used to be. For goodness sake, give us some beans and rice instead of merely shaking a partial scoop onto the plate. I take it as apparent training and ownership/management pressure. This has to be what is going on. I do remember getting reasonable portions once upon a time.
Don't blame it on inflation either because prices are also 3x higher than the early days when Cafe Rio came around.
What was there tasted fine. The tortillas are actually great, but you should get great tortillas at that price.

Food was surprisingly underwhelming. The lady folded my meat quesadilla meat on meat and then cheese on cheese. They can’t even make a quesadilla…
On the other hand the cashier gal who is tall with brown hair and a necklace pendant was another story. She heard our order wrong where we had to repeat what we got multiple times. She also touched the screen with gloves on while chewing gum, which is unprofessional. The tables were all dirty, that my husband had to borrow a bottle of cleaner that was left sitting on one of the tables in foyer and cleaned off our table. When he brought it back, the same gal snatched it from him saying “you can’t take that, I was looking for that.” When the bottle was sitting there for at least 10 minutes before anyone touched. On top of that I over heard her “apologize” to a couple that just got their food, she said “I’m sorry” turned around and said “NOT”. This seemed really petty and again unprofessional.
This store needs some clean up and training for the employees.

I’ve been eating at this establishment for several years. It’s ok at best for me. My family and friends like it so it’s a go to for them.

The worst Cafe Rio I have ever been to in my life! I will never go there again. The owner, manager or whoever he was sat and harassed the employee in Spanish that he'd better not give us very much and I'll be darned that it was the tiniest most awful burrito I have ever had there! You know how their burritos are suppose to be round? Well this one was a weirdly shaped mess because of the lack of ingredients in it! Literally gave us one teaspoon of pico de gallo and when asked for more we were told too bad. One of the worst experiences I've ever had.

There was a stick in my salad. We also asked specifically for green sauce inside the quesadilla and Pico with the salad. They repeated the order back, but did not include Pico and put the green sauce on the side instead. The meat portion was a little less than usual too.

This was another attempt at a different location for cafe Rio to redeem themselves. I only came because of a family event. The food made fresh before my eyes were beans dumped from a bag, and meat dumped from a bag. I asked for queso with my chips and they scraped the bottom of the barrel to offer me cheese. My niece ordered a tostada and dumped half a cup of lettuce water off her meal. The horchata was out in the dining room so I inquired of the girl who rang me up if I could get some. She said she was in charge of refilling but also needed to help the long line so could I wait? Thankfully she realized there was horchata at the drive through and got us a cup full there. My tray and my sons was dirty with previous food.
Thanks for reassuring what I already knew. Avoid Cafe Rio.

Cafe Rio at every location has declined dramatically. In my experience, this location is the worst of all of them. We gave it another chance last night as we used to love Cafe Rio.
Once again they gave us disgusting soggy chips, not even edible, and the incorrect meat in a burrito filled mostly with rice. The meat it did have was mostly gristle. It was the most disgusting burrito I have had in years.
Cafe Rio could be a case study in business school. They were a well respected company known for quality and taste, but quickly became known for bad customer service and low quality food, when they changed ownership and expanded.
