Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican

This is without question the worst Cafe Rio I've been to. I've been several times hoping it was just a bad night. Unfortunately thats not the case. Every time I have ordered a smothered burrito there is no more than a spoonful of meat. After the first time I ordered double meat and it makes no difference. The employees do not seem to care about the quality of food they put out. One of the times I watched the employee scoop out the entire scab off the top of the sauce and lay it on my burrito, no stirring it up or anything. Just a dry crusty layer of sauce. I will no longer go to this location because it's always a bad experience. Paying $13-$15 dollars for a burrito that has a few shreds of chicken is a joke.

Skip this location! I have been a fan of Cafe Rio for years but this location has single handedly switched me to a Costa Vida customer!! Their store is always a mess, the line looks filthy, and things are always dried out or have been sitting out for hours. We are always let down with take out as well, mistakes or poor quality. I talk to a lot of friends and they all say they hate this location and they go to other stores. The one in Cottonwood heights or American fork is amazing! Hopefully they can turn this location around!

Asked for no tortilla due to gluten allergy and they have me a tortilla. Asked for chopped lettuce and got shredded. Got a tiny dressing for a big salad. Half the size of the other Cafe Rios. Hardly any chicken. Brown guacamole. I’m honestly not even going to eat it so there is 20 bucks down the drain. Thanks.

Cafe Rio must have fallen on hard times... The fideo portions are less than 1/2 what they used to be... It tastes great but is less filling 😁

I ordered a sweet pork burrito got absolutely no sweet pork in my burrito at this point I’m eating a bean and rice burrito I also asked him for extra cheese he ignored me and continued to roll my burrito up I asked him if he could put extra cheese and on top of my burrito he told me sorry bro and pointed to the empty container of cheese like go get some more I asked for it worst experience ever going to cafe rio I’d rather go to costa vida and actually get a sweet pork burrito

This particular location is awful. It was so dirty, food & trash everywhere. They were using dirty rags to wipe counters. Out of all meat, beans etc. at 6pm at tge height of dinner hours, with a line of 10 cars in the drive through. Do not go to this location! We left.

Should be zero stars. Waited over half an hour after ordering on the kiosk. How does one wait half an hour for food at cafe rio. Asked for a refund and left. Won’t return here. Kiosk ordering doesn’t seem to be a great idea.

Don’t order from the kiosk. Took about 30 minutes longer to get my food than people waiting in line. Food was ok but not great.

We always love the food here.
This visit was a little weird, there was only one guy making food and even though we were the second people in line it took forever. It felt like you was rushing me through and wasn't listening to what I was saying and I had to stop him and make him go back multiple times.
Then, he put our food over where we pay and we waited honestly 5 minutes before someone came over to help us pay.

This cafe Rio (and others) just sucks. The food is poorly made and poorly proportioned. Cafe Rio used to be great, and now it’s worse than middling. The only reason I ever go here is because it’s open on Sundays.

I never leave reviews, but I’m genuinely impressed with this location every time I’m in the area. There have been a couple times I’ve come in right before closing after getting off work late (which I know is the worst, having worked in the F&B industry myself). Still, the service is phenomenal no matter what time of day it is.

The staff is always so pleasant, they make sure my order is correct, and I never feel rushed. They treat each guest like they matter, even when they’re just minutes from closing. Hands down the best Cafe Rio I’ve been to!
