The restaurant was incredibly smoky. We've been here twice and I thought the first time was a fluke but it was so smoky that I was coughing all night, had a sore throat, and we smelled of smoke when we got home,

We were excited to try this restaurant but I have to say, first impressions are everything, and our experience at the Block Restaurant fell short. While the atmosphere looked fun, the hostess's demeanor and the prolonged wait to be helped was disheartening. If the restaurant prefers reservations, it should be clearly stated on their website instead of making people feel like fools for asking if they take walk-ins when there was no one waiting in the lobby and several available tables were ready to go. This initial encounter did not instill any desire to return for another attempt.

I'm really not sure how to describe this place. It is one of the most expensive restaurants in Utah County. We spent more than $120 for two, no drinks and before the tip.To start we tried the special for the day - lobster mac n cheese! It was good, it was a bit salty and the lobster was overcooked. As an entre -I ordered the House made gnocchi, and my wife had Mary's Chicken. Despite farm to table ingredients and prepared on demand, do you wait a little while for your food. We both thought that the dishes were "Meh", at best.Mine was basically a fancy pot roast with potatoes shaped like gnocchi. My wife thought hers tasted like a chicken pot pie.All three dishes were heavy on salt.We were disappointed and although the food was very good, aside from the salt. I did not feel it Rose to the occasion of having a mid-thirties $ price tag. I don't believe we'll be going back.

GET THE GNOCCI!!!Braised short ribs with mushrooms. I added the sourdough side and it's a good thing or I would have had to lick my plate clean, which really would have embarrassed my wife.Wife got the hanger steak and beets. Also very good.I'm looking forward to trying "Next Door". I hear the nachos are ???.

The food was good, but honestly it wasn't worth the price tag. I expected so much higher quality and did not receive it. It was "Texas Roadhouse good." We won't be going back.

For what it costs, the food was pretty average. I know it is kind of farm to table and all that. The service I thought was underwhelming- somehow they botched my order, and it was delivered about 20 minutes after my wife's food. The server also wasn't super attentive to our drinks. The reason I put 4 stars for service is because of what came next- the manager came over, personally apologized, comped a dessert, and took $15 off my bill as well. That seemed exceptional.

Just ate here for brunch. After waiting 15 mins to be seated we then waited 20-25 minutes to get our food. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and when it arrived at the table it was cold. I had to ask the hostess to get our server because he never came back to the table to check on us. Finally, he surfaced and had no apologies for the temperature of my food. He simply said "can I get you something else" I told him to take it off my bill and I didn't want anything else as my spouse had already finished his food. We won't be back. One and done.

We had a fun evening with a friend, celebrity chef from Food Network and we decided to take him here. We had dined here twice and it is generally quite good but I was concerned taking him here but overall he was very kind and had a good time but privately he was a little critical. Since that evening, we have been back and pleasantly surprised with their menu, their drinks are inventive, but too much mixer as restricted by Utah laws, so I generally only order wine. I find that to be true throughout Utah. Lots of locals go here and it’s likely one of the best restaurants in the Orem/Provo area. It is also family friendly, so be prepared that you may be seated next to families with young children. They do have a bar area which is separate from the main dining room, which is more pleasant if you don’t like dining next to little children.Parking: This restaurant is in a strip mall and parking is open to everyone but I don’t like parking my luxury car there because I get door dings

Beautiful restaurant. Food was incredible in terms of flavor, the only shortcoming being that the steak came out cold. That said, the whole experience was still lovely, and the steak was still tasty despite non-preferable temperature. Service was efficient and considerate.

Won't be coming back here): for the 5 dishes we had it was $140 which really isn't bad for utah upscale dining. However, i think it was worth $60-70. The baked ricotta was amazing and i would eat that again, same with the cake. But everything else was way over-priced and underwhelming. We had a pear salad that was literally costco spring mix with some overripe pears in it, no dressing no nothing. They were kind enough to also throw in a handful of walnuts in there, coming to a price of $16 for a salad you get at a school cafeteria. Lasagna legitimately tasted like chef boyardee, which wouldn't have been bad if it wasn't $30. The duck breast was very promising and was actually very flavorful, just super chewy. Interior was reminiscent of an upscale texas roadhouse and we came home somehow smelling like barbecue / smoke? Sorry for the bad review but i just don't think anyone can justify how this food is priced

Overall our service was pretty good. All four of us dining thought the food was pretty average. Our biggest complaint is the pricing. They have a long way to go to be a 5-star restaurant so why do they charge 5-star pricing? On the plus side, it is nice to have a full bar in Utah County!!

Drove up to Provo wanting some decent brunch. Was disappointed. I question the hygiene of this place. I travel a lot and rarely get upset stomach. I ordered the fresh squeeze orange juice. With 10 mins of taking a few sips, my stomach started to rumble. And it was bad. I had runny stomach for the next 4 hours until everything was purged. I ordered the Benedict's, needless to say I didn't have much appetite. But even if my stomach was not upset, it wasn't exactly properly executed. The Hollandaise sauce was way overcooked, noticed the big thick clump instead of slight runniness? Fries and ham was kinda dry. Oh, have I mentioned service was extremely slow??? Was rather surprised by the great review.
