Last night my wife and I visited Gallo Giro Mexican Restaurant in Provo. When we first walked in, the restaurant smelled great and we were excited to try the food. Our waiter recommended the molcajete, so we decided to order it to share.
Unfortunately, the dish was not very good. The molcajete came out extremely full of sauce and the flavors just didn’t taste right. We were pretty hungry, but we ended up barely eating it because it wasn’t enjoyable.
Since we were still hungry, I ordered some street tacos for us instead.
When the waiter brought the bill, he charged us the full price for the molcajete even though he could clearly see we barely touched it. There was no offer to adjust the bill or even ask if something was wrong with the dish. To make it more uncomfortable, he also asked us to pay in cash.
Overall, the place smelled great when we arrived, but the food and customer service didn’t meet expectations. Hopefully they can improve the quality of the food and how they handle situations when customers are not satisfied.
Some of the best fish tacos I have ever had. Pure bliss in my mouth. Love the Chipotle sauce. Joe and the staff were kind and welcoming and made it feel very homey. Highly recommend!

I simply adore this place. It is so delicious! I will never stop raving about their food to everyone I know. The meat is well-seasoned, flavorful, and always piping hot. Their agua frescas are my favorite in the Valley, and I love their salsa bar. The staff is friendly, and Jose is one of our favorites!
I love them so much that they even catered our reception dinner, and it was 10/10 as well! If you’re in the mood for some amazing food, this is always the place to go!

I requested a special order and the chef was very accommodating and the staff went above and beyond to make sure I had a good experience! The food was amazing, 10 out of 10 - if you haven’t been here, you NEED to try it!

For poor college students (they have a BYU discount menu) looking for a sit-down Mexican restaurant with good food and not extreme prices, this was great. I’m not the one to rate authenticity but it sure as heck tasted great. I had steak gallanitos (corn empanadas smothered in some amazing tomatillo sauce), a lengua street taco (yeah it’s cow tongue and that was weird but it was good), and my wife got the BYU discount menu enchilada.
Service was great, restaurant wasn’t crowded or loud, music was an appropriate volume, and we really enjoyed ourselves.
I saw a review from a couple weeks ago saying they didn’t take cards. Not sure what was going on then because they definitely took my Discover card yesterday.

Nice owner, greeter, and waitress. The food seemed very authentic. The food was good. The environment was festive, and authentic. I just have to subtract 1 star as they did not accept my credit card, or even my Visa debit card. They take cash only.

I was there on Saturday. I was billed $11.95 for eggs from the breakfast menu and no drink. I paid it. I looked at my bank statement today, and it says I was billed $13.95, which was not on the receipt. Don't eat here. They tip themselves when the money is the customer's to give, not theirs to take. It's not about the $2 difference. It's about respect. This is so disrespectful. I disputed the amount with the bank and hope to get my money back soon.

Not a nice place to eat ,.!
Called in an order for half a adobado chicken and it took them longer than wait time they stated. Chicken was undercooked so I had to finish it off in my oven. So that was disappointing. They also didn't include any onions or cactus. That was also very disappointing. Their salsas were delicious and the employees were nice.
Best mexican food in Utah. And their catering services/food are also amazing.
If you are Hispanic, they make you feel like you aren’t welcome here staff is very rude, they treat you like your bothering them, they won’t check your table we waited 15 minutes for a glass of water, even tho we were the only one in the restaurant, they give you 2 paper napkins acting like they come out of there paycheck. They treat you like you’re less than them like you ain’t a paying costumer. TERRIBLE COSTUMER SERVES. Wouldn’t recommend
* The Customer Service was outstanding!!
* The atmosphere outside at the patio it was very pleasant.
* Sadly, the food was extremely salty, even the guacamole. That's absolutely not enjoyable, and that did it for us!!!
