I came in on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, around 3:45 PM and placed an order. The employee making my sandwich did not change his gloves after handling money and immediately started preparing my food. I had to stop him—he was wearing headphones, which he also touched, adding to the contamination risk.
When I told him to change his gloves, he argued with me, claiming his culinary school taught him that it’s not necessary to wash hands or change gloves after handling money—which is completely false. Money is known to carry bacteria and viruses, and handling it absolutely requires proper sanitation.
He eventually changed his gloves but did not wash his hands. Then, after putting his headphones back on, he re-contaminated the new gloves. He continued touching various unsanitary surfaces in the kitchen and then handled my food with those same dirty gloves.
I requested a refund, but he refused at first and didn’t even know how to process one. I had to argue with him repeatedly before he finally called a manager.
This experience was extremely unsanitary and unprofessional. The employee violated several food safety protocols, and I hope this issue is addressed seriously. I will not be returning.

Been going to Ernie’s for years. The staff at Provo is rude. Ordered a steak and eggs. It had ONE piece of steak on it. Just go to Orem. The guys here are cheeks.

I like the vibes! The breakfast sandwich (I got the Champ) was hot, good quality and served up in a few minutes. The music is good and not too loud, and the guy who served the sandwich was cool.
We love the food and the pool table at Ernie's! Specifically their breakfast sandwiches. We do however wish the workers didn't seem to hate their job. The food is so worth it though! We always play a few rounds with the pool table while eating and it's so fun, never super busy. Great place to eat!

Awesome sandwich shop! We had the grilled steak, linebacker, and the grilled cheese with ham. They were all very good. Bun was soft with just the right amount of chew. Solid choice.
