Food is good, but the kitchen is extremely slow. It can be a full hour wait after ordering
Really good!
Honestly I have no idea how this place can be rated so highly. Me and the people we were all really disappointed with the food vs price balance. Two of us got lomo saltado, a whopping 18 dollars for something of a quality that I would be disappointed at for half the price. The other got arroz chaufa and the ‘beef polish sausage’ in it literally looked and tasted exactly like a subpar store hotdog. The lomo saltado was flavorless, undercooked (I don’t mind so much rare meat but the veggies were just oily and lukewarm). Took forever, was expensive, and there are much better Peruvian options nearby for comparable prices. Just really wouldn’t recommend, I don’t know if there are better things on the menu but these two were just really disappointing at this price.

I love the food here, but I literally waited 1 hour for my food. I asked about my order at the 30 min mark and was assured it was coming, but still waited another 30. The people next to me said they’d waited an hour as well. I was offered a soda to make up for it…which I don’t drink. I’ve never had an issue at the Orem location.

The food is not worth it. It’s decent food but for what I paid for I thought there would be more. I ordered the lomo saltado and it came with 4 pieces of meat. I love Peruvian food but will never come back.
Red Fuego is fantastic, super tasty

This chicken is pretty good! The taste is unique and the view from this location was nice
Love eating here! The hostess, Ciara, was so sweet and helpful when my group of ten came during rush hour. The food was the best Peruvian food I’ve tasted in my life!

UPDATE: I reached out to the manager and they said I could come back and make it right. It took me a while to get back there as I didn’t have much motivation, however my expectations were exceeded. They were very polite and said I could get anything I’d like. I tried a new bowl I haven’t before. It was majorly delicious. It also took them 5 minutes to make the food unlike last time. I was quite surprised with my experience and had to update this review. It was much better
It’s delicious food but I paid for a chicken Fuego bowl and literally had two pieces of chicken in there. It also took 30 minutes to make my food which I was surprised when they gave me the smallest portion I’ve ever had at this place. It was an off experience unfortunately because the food is great. Probably won’t go back now.

Definitely very little meat for what you pay. Steak was wayyy overdone and too chewy. Chicken was pink…. Not sure it was cooked all the way.
Edited to add: yep pretty sure it was underdone because I spent the whole next day with food poisoning.

Place is usually bomb big portions, and pretty fast service, but the portions didn’t even fill us up I could’ve gone to the grocery store and cooked all this myself by the time they got our food out. We had a party of 6 and it seems like they cooked it all individually which is odd would recommend getting food out much faster than 30 mins. And lower your prices you’d get much more repeat service.

I personally really enjoy the food at any red fuego. The steak meat portions are small for the price you pay for, but the flavor is always good. The chicken can be hit or miss as sometimes it’s raw, every time I’ve had this problem they do fix it but it sucks when that’s what you wanted to eat. This is my go to location only because I live close to it. I’ve been coming here for 3 years, and the inconsistency of this place drives me crazy sometimes. They never really open at 11. The wait times are super long, I usually call ahead and even then sometimes I wait 10-25 minutes for my food. There is also days all they have is chicken I could not tell you the best time to go because they’re is always something going on. Still this is my favorite Peruvian restaurant despite the inconsistency. I hope in the future they’ll be able to fix this. I’ve been to the Provo location, Orem location and the lehi location and I’ve had the same problems everywhere. I will say if they don’t answer the phone just don’t bother to show up, because it’s likely they’re super busy, they’re not open, or they’re out of a popular dish.
