Ruby River Steakhouse was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant has a comfortable, rustic setting that feels relaxed and welcoming, making it a nice place to enjoy a casual dinner.

The steak was cooked well and had great flavor, and the sides complemented the meal nicely. The fresh rolls were a great start and a nice touch before the main course. Portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh and satisfying.

The staff was courteous and checked in regularly to make sure everything was good. It was a bit busy during the evening, so service slowed down slightly at times, but nothing that took away from the experience.

We had a great dinner at Ruby River Steakhouse. The atmosphere has that classic Western lodge feel — warm lighting, wood accents, and a comfortable setting that makes it perfect for a relaxed evening out.

The steaks were cooked just the way we asked, tender and full of flavor. The sides were generous, especially the baked potato and fresh rolls, which were a nice touch. You can tell they focus on hearty portions and traditional steakhouse quality.

Service was friendly and attentive, checking in at the right times without being overwhelming. It was a bit busy during dinner rush, so there was a small wait for our table, but once seated everything moved smoothly.

Incredible value. 16oz ribeye, two sides and coconut shrimps for $40 pre-tax/tip. Vibes are a bit dated.

The staff is always really pleasant. Food is great we get the browning onion every time 10/10. Never had a problem with a wrong with the food and it comes out fairly quick

Food is okay for what you spend. Portion sizes are smaller than average. The building is cute but aging and falling apart which effects the atmosphere.
The only saving grace for this place is the service when they remember they have a table.

Great place to eat for a steak. Love the gorgonzola that can be added to any steak and the mushrooms were very good. They did wait until our entire party arrived before seating us for our reservation.

We were celebrating a birthday and our experience at Ruby River Steakhouse was excellent! The server was attentive and friendly. The food was so tasty. We all felt it was the best choice we could have made for the celebration. The prices were reasonable and the portions big. The steaks were mouth watering, and the salmon was tasty. Everything was prepared perfectly. As a bonus we could have a nice conversation without music blasting which would have been the atmosphere at our second choice. We'll be back soon!

Probably the worst customer experience I have ever had. We showed up at 5 asking to be seated as a party of 10. We were told to sit in two booths.. meaning half the party in one table half the party in another. Frustrated as I asked to be seated at the two tables that would accommodate our party. I was explained there is no way we could use those tables as there was a reservation at 630. I showed the manger my watch showing them it was 515. He explained there was no way for them to confirm table would be ready by the 630 reservation if we were sat at 515. I said we should have no issue being out of the restaurant in just over an hour. And that if it wasn’t possible for the kitchen to be able to accommodate they probably need to fix there kitchen.

This is a pretty unique place that gives late 80s early 90s Holiday Inn vibes. The food is not bad but it’s not good either. It is a fairly inexpensive steakhouse so it earns a five star for the price.

This used to be mine and my husband’s favorite place. We would come here every anniversary, but we have not been back for At least 7 years. My favorite has always been the prime rib. My husband loved the ribs.. But as soon as we walked in, I don’t know what happened to this place. It was broken down. Areas of the floors were broken. It looked dirty. The hostesses were not dressed professionally as they used to be our server was fabulous. Very kind on top of everything very professional. The onion appetizer was really good. We ordered our favorites. I got the 12 ounce prime rib. My husband got the full rack of ribs. I got a wedge salad on the side when I got the wedge salad. It was a huge square piece of iceberg lettuce tons of dressing on the top with greasy bacon bits. It was horrible. I Should’ve sent it back, but I didn’t. I don’t know what dressing that was, but it did not taste like blue cheese and along with the bacon bits something almost tasted rancid, but I kept telling myself maybe the next bite would be better it didn’t. I didn’t even eat a quarter of it. I cut it up hoping that would help but it was Horrible. We finally got our dinner. My husband‘s ribs looked like they had a whole bottle of barbecue sauce poured over the top. And then my prime rib was very blah and hard to cut. It made me feel bad because obviously the place it’s not the same it used to be. I think the cowboy boots and the decor was the same from 28 years ago when we first started going. It looks very rundown and dirty besides the onion appetizer the food was not good at all. We got out to our car after And mentioned we won’t be back. Which is sad because it used to be a fabulous place with professional staff, and the food was always so good. Oh, I can’t forget the miserable night I had, I woke up around 12 o’clock Burping up that horrible wedge salad. I took some Prevacid and Pepto. And finally got to sleep around 2 o’clock curse that wedge salad it was horrible!

Disappointing Steaks, Excellent Service...

My experience at here was a true mixed bag, unfortunately leaning heavily towards disappointment where it mattered most—the steak.
We started with some delicious appetizers which were well-prepared and enjoyable. Our server was incredibly nice and helpful, truly the highlight of the evening, and handled the subsequent issues with grace and professionalism.
However, the main course was a total letdown. I ordered the ribeye and was first served a cut that was almost entirely fat and gristle. I sent it back, hoping for a better replacement. The second ribeye arrived and, despite ordering it rare, it was essentially blue—cold and raw in the center. At that point, having had two failed attempts at a quality, properly cooked steak, I chose to cut my losses and leave.
They did the right thing by removing the steak from the bill, which I appreciate. But for a restaurant that bills itself as a steakhouse, the poor quality of the meat and the inability to cook it to the requested temperature is a major problem.
If you go, stick to the appetizers and enjoy the wonderful service, but I cannot recommend this place for a quality steak dinner.

Every time I’m in Provo, I eat at this steakhouse, best steak in town. Prices are very reasonable. Nice fireplace for romantic dates. Sirloin and prime rib, exceptional.
