This review is based on Bowery Haven's restaurant/store alone. And I'll be honest I haven't been since 2019 due to both COVID and life circumstances (including not wanting to go there alone). But I want to say something on here about their current restaurant/dining....
The resort itself is 5 star and have been very happy with it through the years. We would go to Fish Lake every August the past 30 years or so and alot when I was little, out "go to" place. We chose Bowery Haven and their cabins/motel from 2007 onward due to them being pet friendly over the cabins at the other end of the lake we'd used for years. But post-COVID, from 2020 on, Bowery Haven isn't the same. I know haven't been their during these last 4 years but know for a fact I'd be disappointed. Why? Because even though COVID is 4 years in the past they still haven't restored indoor dining. I'm hoping they've gone back to that by the time I can start coming to Fish Lake again. I hope the outdoor/to go situation isn't permanent.
Trouble getting staff might be the reason. But why is this ongoing? They managed to have staff for those 20 or 30 years I mentioned above. Hopefully they aren't settling for their current situation just because they find it easier.
I hope the Lodge is serving again or will soon if they aren't... wouldn't know because I think they blocked me on Facebook for questioning this. To the people at the Lodge: please unblock me if you have. That isn't how to treat a decades of loyalty person.
My 2 star rating on this review is about Bowery Haven's current restaurant situation only and they got 2 stars instead of only 1 out of my past love & loyalty.

It was a nice little store but needs to be updated. It's been like that for 40+ years. It's over priced but a tourist stop so that's understandable. Great customer service!

Busy, holiday weekend. Staff is on point and moved the line very efficiently. Food was a bit pricey, but everything was up there in the mountains. Worth it, saved us from another peanut butter and jelly sandwich on the lake. Will frequent again!

We always love coming to Bowery Haven!Things have definitely changed, but I like the improvements that they have made. The staff is friendly and welcoming. They always have the one thing you forgot to bring camping too! They have everything from start to finish, they rent cabins, have full hook site for those who have trailers. Rent a boat or pontoon boat for half a day or a full day. Buy fish tackle there as well.

This place used to have dine-in, but Bowery Haven replaced their tables and chairs with a gift shop, and the only place to eat was outside. This is the only place to eat at Fish Lake, and I wasn’t going to sit outside in the rain for 2 pieces of chicken tenders that cost $14.00 (way overpriced food). Took us an hour to get 3 chicken tenders and 2 salads (the workers were standing around talking). The gift shop was cute (Fish Lake clothes, wood cars/planes/candy jars, magnets, and stickers).

Overall good time. Cabins were clean and boat rentals were easy. Loved having the porches to sit out and view the lake and lightning storms we had while there

Definitely check out Bowery boat rentals for all your Fishlake tackle and gear! The guys are helpful and knowledgeable! Plus, the staff at the Bowery gift shop are warm and friendly!

I don't like to leave bad reviews. If I have a bad experience, I tend to not frequent the establishment or contact them privately. My hope is that they'll read this and improve. My daughter has several food allergies and there was not a ton on their menu she could eat. That's expected and we don't think everyone should have to cater to gluten free. All she wanted was a side of chicken breast like what would come on a salad or the chicken wrap. They would not sell is an individual piece of chicken and suggested I buy her a salad and pick it off. Its already overpriced, but again....I'm not complaining. They've cornered the market and can charge what they want. But I'm to pay $12+ for a tiny side of chicken? Horrible service.Other than their inflexibility on something so small, all their employees were very friendly.The bathrooms were disgusting and didn't have soap.
