Handel's Homemade Ice Cream Riverdale

Ordered 2 mediums when it wasn’t busy. Not only did I realize they gave me a small when I got home but they hardly put $6 with of ice cream in the medium cup.

Tell me why…….. if you order a waffle bowl or cone you have to have a minimum of 3 scoops? Not only that All 3 scoops have to be THE SAME FLAVOR. The guy working said they don’t do flavors by the scoop- but they do cones by the scoop? Doesn’t make much sense.

Ice cream was about 7/10.

We couldn’t eat at the tables outside because all the trash cans smelled SO bad ….even though they were empty! We tried to eat inside but it was freezing so we went out to the car to enjoy our ice cream. Also, not sure why our ice cream melted extremely fast once we got it??? Maybe because it’s homemade ?

The guy working was kind and helpful.

I’ll stick to our local ice cream shops in town that are much more accommodating

The ice cream is great, service was not. Couldn’t even think while ordering because the girls working there were screaming along to the music. And the girl that helped us was not friendly at all.

HANDELS IS MY NEW GO-TO!
I’d like to say my experience at Handels started out very disappointing for my first visit. That turned around real quick! After a quick message to the store directly about my concern I was contacted by a phone call within 24 hours from the General Manager, Stephanie AND the Franchise owner, Zach.

I am absolutely taken and so pleased with how this location took my issues and concerns. They talked to me on the phone, texted me and took VERY good care of me for my next couple of visits there. They truly have top tier customer service and care about every single customer that walks in those doors.

Manager Stephanie was so incredible and understanding to work with directly and is making sure her staff is fully trained on “the Handels way”.

I will 100% be back to Handels for their incredible ice cream, variety of flavors, and friendly staff.

The most delicious ice cream. But lacking on cleanliness. There are ice cream handprints all over the windows, the tables were dirty inside and melted ice cream all over outside. We were here on a Sunday not super busy..I kept waiting for an employee to come wipe the tables..never happened

This place has a lot of hype but not worth it. I should have driven to Grandy for atmosphere or Farrs or Bowtie for flavor…we walked in an hour before closing it was empty but the workers were all very engaged with cleaning some shiny surface you could almost feel their disappointment as we walked in the door and they realized they would have to serve another customer or alas clean up again…it’s almost as if cleaning up is going to drive this empty new chain more business. Samples? Suggestions? Have you ever been to Handels (I have). But worst of all the ice cream tasted like it had thawed and was frozen again. It probably was. It was grainy. There is nothing worse than grainy ice cream. I really wish we would’ve gone to the supermarket to buy a gallon of Neapolitan. You know it’s bad when the garbage can is full of ice cream unfinished. The cone was OK it tasted like all sugar cones taste.

Wow! Handel's ice cream is the best! I've believed that for years! What I didn't expect was the OUTSTANDING personal service we got last night. Even got to meet one of the owners, Meghan, who was friendly and personable and just plain STRATOSPHERICALLY great! Her attitude is infectious to all because the staff, clearly, follows Meghan's leadership as they were all so helpful and willing to make everything right! Do yourself a favor and visit Handel's on Riverdale!
