The employees don’t know how to make proper sandwiches. My husband and I ordered pastrami sandwiches. They were cold like it was a turkey sandwich or something. When I asked about it. The response was well that’s how we make it. Uhh just shoot my money back. Waste of time. And the “manager” shouldn’t be a manager. Truly. This place sucks.
I’m a little disappointed. I ordered the club sandwich and ended up with what’s in the photo. The guy at the window kept asking me if I wanted everything on my sandwich, which was a little confusing because I just wanted what was standard on a club sandwich. No clue what I ended up paying for, but it wasn’t what I ordered.
Delicious bread!!
Randomly got charged for like 10 transactions from their shop after not eating there for a week or so. Went in to discuss the problem and said it wasn't them and they wouldn't do anything for me. They also said that many people have had this same problem. I'm no statistics expert but if multiple people are having a problem with you, YOURE THE PROBLEM. Anyway, probably a glitch in their system but I asked if they offered any reconciliation for the issue and she was very rude and told me no.
This is a pretty good example of how this shop is ran. All the employees are very rude and half the time they get your order wrong. Horrible business and should be shut down.
Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Kid working the rest was swearing and using derogatory terms to describe customer. Especially women. As well as yelling “oh ya your welcome” while walking out.
We had the turkey avocado blt and the Italian and both were delicious. Yum!
I stopped by here as I was in the area taking some pics. I had this place in my radar to visit. The gentleman behind the counter if you was chowder in a sourdough bowl come in Friday and before they sell out. Well I made it today and it was AWESOME. The sourdough was crisp and the chowder was AWESOME. The staff worked fast getting food out and they all worked well together. Definitely a place to visit again.
A little bit disappointed tonight. Read on their website that they are open until 8, but when we got here at 6:30 they were already 90% closed. Sandwiches were pretty good and the service was ok, but nowhere did they say they were closing early. We couldn't even sit at the tables to eat! I'll be calling tomorrow to figure out what happened.
i don’t normally write reviews and to write a review on this place hurts me because i used to work here it’s just crazy how far down the service has gone. i think new people need to be hired. everyone here now is very slow moving, they don’t answer their phones ever anymore, everytime i go is when they are the least busy and no one is there and they still just don’t bother to answer the call. they are telling people to go inside at the busiest time of the day i think that if you’re busy you just let them know before they order that’s what we had to do with the window but i don’t think you should stop doing it at that point you’ll end up just losing money. i think this place needs a new manager and someone to actually manage these guys.
I just went there today for dinner on Halloween and I ended up calling 911 because the food poisoning was so bad my arms went paralyzed. Do not go here ? I have a strong stomach and have never experienced anything like this.

San Francisco Sourdough Eatery is this hidden gem in the Chevron gas station. The service times are consistently lengthy, but the sandwiches are always great and keep me coming back every time I'm in the area.
The best sandwich on the menu is the turkey avocado BLT. It's tough to recommend anything else when this sandwich is steps above the rest. If you get a soda, you can fill up at their drink station, or waltz over to the gas station one which has 3x the options.
Be prepared for a decent wait time on your sandwich. The fastest I've gotten mine in the 15+ years I've come here is 8 minutes; the longest is 20 minutes, with the average around 12-15. It's worth the wait. They've got a small dining room to eat at, or just take it to go. It's a sandwich after all. I had to go 4-stars because the service is never something to brag about, but this place is a must-stop if you love a great sourdough sandwich.

Great little sandwich shop. Generous sized sandwiches and plenty of meat and toppings. The baguette comes slightly toasted, not a hot, which gives a great outside crispy texture while the inside is fresh and soft. It does not have a strong sourdough taste so if that’s something you were hesitant on, it easily passes as a traditional French baguette.
It’s inside the chevron. But don’t let that stop you. Entire facility appears clean. Even tables for eating in.
Great breakfast sandwich, great service and Rhea was quick too! Thank you!!
