While I sit on hold I decided to make a review. I made on online order with a pick up time of 7 pm. My husband sat at the restaurant for 30 minutes just to be told they don’t have our order. Now I have been on hold for 20 minutes. I was going to just see if there was a misunderstanding with my order, but now I want to just cancel it and never come here again! Super frustrating!!

I asked for steak. A couple strips were put in the burrito she then tells me there is no more steak. Maybe 5 minutes I was willing to wait but she told me the burrito was already made what other meat do I want so I settled for the dry chicken. Won't be coming back

The guy taking our order seemed deeply offended by the concept of doing his job and acted like we personally ruined his life by walking in the door. Every question was met with an eye roll so aggressive I worried he’d see his own brain. I’ve had warmer interactions with self-checkout machines. He single-handedly dragged this down to 3 stars.
We love cafe rio! The food is usually very good, however sometimes the wait is a little ridiculous.
Tonight my salad was missing three different ingredients: fajita veggies, cheese, and salsa. It was a bland salad and I overpaid for it. Very disappointed in this order!

Ugh cafe rio used to be such a tasty place to go with my family but at the Saratoga springs location there is a geneleman with a red ghost fade who was terrible, he was slow rude and pushy to other associates he gives orders like he owns the place cafe rio used to be a family place now there is a mini dictator in the work place when I asked for his name he wouldn't give it to me but I asked someone else Joel the rude associate is the reason I am not going back to Saratoga springs

When I went to cafe rio at the Saratoga springs location the other day, to get a cassada the associate Joel was very rude. He yelled at his fellow employees, made mistakes that were easily avoidable and his dress code was inappropriate I saw his underwear when he worked his overall additude was outrageous

So when you DoorDash an order and it’s in a to go bag meaning that it’s TO GO, you know, leaving the restaurant as a delivery, is there any certain reason that you guys can’t throw a goddamn pair of utensils in there? Literally every single time - like, do I need to actually request utensils for a to go order? I mean if I use an actual kitchen knife or butter knife to cut through this it just breaks through the sheet metal tin. Just start putting utensils in it to go orders and for anything that has a bag. It’s not rocket science. When I got to eat the wet burrito, side of salad and the pico with my fingers (again, no utensils while I’m moving) GUESS WHAT, no napkins either. Is there ever a manager on shift or anything at all or is it chaos like this all the time? This restaurant really needs to be under new management. Management clearly doesn’t give a shit about anything. And it’s been this way for a year. $30 bucks I paid for a burrito and not even a set of napkins or utensils.

Upon arrival I ordered and paid sat down with my son and we started eating when I hear this lady say “MAAM YOU NEED TO PAY YOU HAVENT PAID” I obviously didn’t think twice got up and paid. I sat back down and started kinda eating again and then I checked my bank account just to find out I paid TWICE! I asked to speak to the manager he’s like we didn’t charge you twice… they obviously did it said they did on my bank account. I was already mad by how she approached me all rude and yelled it for everyone to hear when I knew I already paid! I got charged twice and they refunded me once and I had to give the food back that I already paid for once. Point is I did get refunded one of my charges but I still got charged a second time and had to give the food back when I paid for it. This location is always frustrating to visit and customer service is horrible!

Very disappointed in the quality of today's visit. Staff was unkind and unwilling to get fresh pork. Instead they scraped the bottom of the tin to make 2 half ass burritos yet charge me for double meat. The amount of meat between both burritos is just barely enough to make 1. I love cafe rio, but the fact that they are open for two more hours and refusing to make a burrito correctly is very disappointing.

Update:
More of the same of what I previously said. To highlight the smaller portions, I'm attaching some pictures. I got the fideo for the first time. I asked 2 different employees if this was the correct amount and they confirmed it was. The ironic thing is that it looked like no one else was ordering it, so they were likely going to throw out a lot of that pasta they weren't filling my plate with. The pasta was good, and the the steak in it was great, which keeps this being a total loss.

Cafe Rio isn't quite like it used to be. Portions definitely seem smaller. We paid for extra meat in the salad, but it was almost nothing extra. Paid for guacamole in my burrito. They put the saddest, smallest scoop of guac on the side. I asked for pico & their corn salsa and also got the smallest scoops. Asked for a lime wedge, no lime. Definitely a bummer after spending $30 for 2 meals (no drinks, no sides). And the restaurant was loud & busy.

I’ve visited this location twice in the past couple of weeks, both about an hour before closing, to order a sweet pork salad. While I understand they’re prepping to close, they’re still technically open, and my requests should be part of normal service.
The same employee took my order both times, and on each occasion, he seemed completely unprepared for basic requests. The first time, I asked for my tortilla on the side, and he looked extremely puzzled and had to ask coworkers how to do it. The second time, I asked if they had brown rice, and he not only consulted other staff but repeatedly asked me why I was asking, acting as if my requests were unreasonable.
Being an hour before closing shouldn’t make me feel like I’m asking for the impossible. Simple requests like putting a tortilla on the side or asking about brown rice shouldn’t require a staff meeting - some basic training for night shift employees might go a long way.

I haven’t been to this Cafe Rio in a long time, and after this visit, I’m not sure I’ll be back. The restaurant was noticeably dirty — food was scattered around, mixed in with other items, and the grill had old food stuck to it, yet quesadillas were still being cooked on top of it. They were also out of grilled chicken. On top of that, the mint lemonade machine kept breaking, and when it did work, it only dispensed a small dribble. Overall, extremely disappointing.

This place is so bad. Their portion sizes are never consistent and the food is never fresh. And tonight I found plastic in my food.
