I had an amazing dining experience at the Spotted Dog. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The Purses with Sage butter was one of my favorites simple, delicious, and perfectly tossed in olive oil without any heavy sauces. It had a clean, fresh flavor that really stood out.
The lamb shank is a must-try. It was so tender that when I held the bone and lifted it, the meat stayed on the plate. That’s how perfectly cooked it was. Absolutely worth it!
The prices are on the higher side, but for a date night or a special evening out, it’s definitely worth every dollar. Highly recommended.

My family of four were extremely disappointed with our experience here. The woman who seated us and brought us waters was very nice. It started off bad with our waiter who became very rude after a simple question about the bread we ordered as an appetizer. After that it just went down hill. My entire family felt uncomfortable. It seemed he was purposely ignoring our table the rest of our time there. He made sure to go around to all of the tables around us asking them how they were, how their food was, if they needed anything, bringing dessert, taking payments, while we sat waiting for him to even take our main dish orders. The bread did not seem fresh and came out to us dry and stale. It did not come with butter so we asked for some and he brought frozen butter that couldn’t be spread. He also only brought 3 little pats of butter for 4 people and 2 orders of bread. He only brought us a pitcher of water after we had to ask for it. We waited for a very long time to receive our meals. Once they came my husbands meatball sandwich was cold. The cheese was solid on his meatballs. It was awful. My daughter got pesto pasta. It was decent and a good temp. Definitely the best item from what we ordered. My other daughter and I ordered a large Cesar salad to share. When it was brought to us we were not given plates. We had to eat it from our bread plates. The salad was ok. We were never once asked by him how our food was, given refills, asked if we needed anything. After watching him giving service to every single table around us and ignoring us during our ENTIRE time there, we asked for the check. He was probably one of the worst wait staff I have ever encountered. I didn’t want to tip him at all which I have never done. We always tip at least 20% to our servers even if the food isn’t that good. This time we could not. He got $5 and honestly that wasn’t deserved. He ruined our dinner. We almost got up and left and just paid for the stale bread but decided to stick it out and hope for better. We should have just paid for the bread and left. This place was not at all what we hoped for.

Oof, I had high hopes for this restaurant but was woefully disappointed. The host and server were very kind / welcoming so we can get the good out of the way! The food though….my partner ordered the burger which came out so charred it resembled a thin hockey puck, which he promptly exchanged for the bbq plate which was certainly better but the cornbread was rock hard and it wasn’t worth the almost $40. I ordered the pasta purses which was so sweet it was almost dessert-like…thankfully the server recommended mushrooms with it otherwise the whole dish would have been sent back too. The dessert (lemon cake) tasted like it was once frozen and thawed out…nice view of the canyon but King’s Landing blew this place out of the water

Ordered the lamb shank and burger. My boyfriend enjoyed the burger but the lamb shank was nothing special. Especially for the price. The peas had an unpleasant hard texture and the carrot was undercooked. The sauce mentioned for the lamb was more of a light drizzle… certainly not enough to offset the bland fingerling potatoes and the shank was on the dry side. Food was presented well and the property has beautiful views from the outdoor seating area. Our server was very pleasant and we had timely service despite being understaffed.

Nice view! Food pretty good!
Had dinner at the Spotted Dog on our 2nd night in Zion/Springdale. I had the burger and my wife had the pasta purses. My burger was so good but wow did I envy my wife’s dish! Our server McKenna was so sweet and attentive. We just missed a table at first come first serve outside tables, so if you want one to watch the sunset on the rocks get there early.

Wonderful food and we sat on the patio and the outdoor heaters kept us plenty warm in October.

Spotted dog does not allow dogs in patio seating and parking isn’t the best. Camp outpost has way better food/drinks/scenery!
Does not allow dogs. Even on the patio. You would think with a name like “Spotted Dog” they’d be dog friendly. Also parking was terrible. Diagonal spots going into a narrow parking lot that required a 6 point turn to get out while other cars are trying to pull in from the busy road.

I was really disappointed with my experience here. The bartender was rude and unfriendly, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. A 20% tip was automatically added to the bill — tipping should be based on the quality of service, not forced. The food was okay but definitely could be much better for the price. There was also no Wi-Fi, which is frustrating in the mountains where there’s no cell service. Overall, not a pleasant experience and not worth returning to.

We ordered takeout and I had the brisket BBQ sandwich with coleslaw. The meal was beautifully presented, flavorful, and very satisfying. The brisket was tender and perfectly seasoned, and the sides complemented it well. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
