I ordered the sweet and sour pork combo meal. (Delivery)
Although the food was delivered hot. The pork was dry and over cooked. And the taste left little to desire. Not only did the food upset my stomach, but it upset everyone's stomach in my family who ate it. The price was also too high. The restaurant used to be a much better place to eat. WILL NOT BE RETURNING!!!
Had my niece's graduation party here in the back room and it was everything we needed. Comes with a stage, mics, sound system. Stephen was very nice and helpful. We had our party and the servers were all friendly and brought out the food on time. We were having a good old time and the servers just minded their business and were very attentive if we needed something. Highly recommend if you need to host a party. Also the pon-pon chicken is the best!
The dim sum was not good. It made me sick and gave me food poisoning.
Love this place!
Ordered one WHOLE roasted duck costing $44. When I come home, the duck missing 1 thigh, 2 wings completely disappear, and there’s barely any meat. Do not come here, they cheat and lie just to make a tiny bit profit. They will steal the food that you paid for.
Food was good but the waitor was not really attentive
The best Chinese food! We are coming here more often!
They serve both americanized chinese food and authentic chinese food (dim sum menu). The americanized food is delicious. I didn't care too much for the dim sum menu but it was fun to try something new that I never had before.
Red Maple in Taylorsville used to be my go-to Chinese restaurant. I was a loyal fan for years—even during the pandemic, I ordered takeout regularly. They had the best authentic Chinese dishes in town. But I hadn’t been back for a couple of years, and recently decided to return when I gave a friend a ride home who lives nearby. We all agreed to stop by, nostalgic for the good old Red Maple days.
It was a Saturday around 2 PM, still dim sum time. We ordered a variety of dim sum and dishes from the menu, expecting to be impressed like before—but sadly, almost everything missed the mark.
Let’s start with the cheung fun (rice noodle rolls)—we tried both shrimp and beef. The skin was thick, hard, and nothing like the silky texture it should have. The pai gwut (spare ribs) were extremely fatty—over 60% of each bite was just fat. The niu bai ye (beef tripe) was drowning in ginger—like they got a truckload of free ginger and decided to use it all at once. The tofu dessert was bland, not sweet at all. The char siu bao (BBQ pork buns) were dry and hard.
We ordered kong xin cai (water spinach), expecting fresh, crisp greens. What came out looked pale and was mostly stems. It wasn’t stir-fried—it tasted like it had been boiled in the same hot water pot used to pre-cook everything in a typical Chinese kitchen. Disappointing doesn’t even begin to cover it.
The server did check in a few times but didn’t seem to notice we barely touched our food. Instead, they kept pushing more dim sum off the cart, now on “buy one, get one free.” We figured maybe we just picked the wrong dishes, so we gave it another shot.
We ordered ham sui gok (deep-fried glutinous dumpling), which arrived completely flattened—I honestly couldn’t tell what it was at first! But since I’ve always liked that dish, we still gave it a try and wanted to pick wu gok (taro dumpling) as the free one. The server refused, saying he wanted to take that one home himself… so we picked something else.
Ironically, the most deformed dish—ham sui gok—ended up being the best one on the table.
I’m sad to say it, but Red Maple just isn’t what it used to be. I really wanted to love it again, but unless things improve drastically, I probably won’t be back anytime soon.
Love the food, I’m willing to drive out 15 mins just to have the food

Updating my review. A few years ago, I thought this was the best Chinese food in Utah. Unfortunately, it’s gone downhill, and the prices have gone up. I wouldn’t order from here again. :(
Best Chinese food in Utah for sure

Hit or Miss. The pan fried or double pan fried noodles were excellent. The hot sour soup was a little off and the ham fried rice in the combo was bland and tasted like two day old rice. Tofu kung pow was average. I would come back for the fried noodles but would avoid the soups and rice dishes.

I had an amazing dining experience at here, especially with their incredible dim sums! Each bite was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly steamed. The variety was impressive, and the delicate flavors truly stood out. If you’re a dim sum lover, this place is a must-visit!
