Service was great, the waitress was really nice and helpful.

The food was good, but not necessarily worth the price tag. The place is dry, which would be nice to know up front. The mocktails are tasty, but there's no reason for them to be so expensive if there's no alcohol in them.

I got the focaccia bread to start, which was ok. Nothing to write home about. I got the salmon for the entree, which was the highlight out of everything. The salmon skin was too crispy, and the salmon itself a bit overdone. Tiramisu balls for dessert weren't terrible, but wouldn't go out of my way to get them again (and I LOVE tiramisu).

The look of the establishment is cute (one of the windows has a massive crack, though), but the music is on a loop of less than an hour.

Probably won't go back, but worth going once if you don't mind it being dry.

We came to Rome Restaurant in Tooele for a birthday lunch with my parents, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. When we arrived, we were the only ones in the restaurant and ordered our food right away. My husband joined us about 20 minutes later, and we had already placed his order too.

My dad’s food came out about 20 minutes after we arrived, and my husband’s about 40 minutes after. After waiting over an hour and 15 minutes, my mom and I still hadn’t received our meals — even though both my dad and husband had already finished eating. When we asked the waitress what was taking so long, she admitted she had never put our order or (the ticket didn't go in)

Two other tables came in after us, were served, and even finished their meals before we ever got ours. When we asked about compensation, the waitress only offered to take off two drinks. After pointing out that wasn’t appropriate given the situation (by then we’d been waiting an hour and 45 minutes), she then offered just 10% off — which was about the same as the two drinks.

We ended up getting our food to go, and sadly, it wasn’t very good. The service was terrible, the wait was unacceptable, and the food wasn’t worth it. We definitely won’t be going back.

The food is good but service is horrible. My husband and I brought my daughter for lunch, we were the only ones there for a half an hour. After over a hour and a half of waiting, we still didn't have our food. My husband's and my daughter's husband's food was brought out one at a time and they were done with their food as my daughter and I continued waiting. We had to pick off of their plates because we were hungry. The ironic part was my son in law showed up about 20 minutes after us and got his food before us. Other people showed up and got their food before us. The waitress comes and tells us after a hour and a half that the chef never got our order and doesn't speak English well. I asked to give us some kind of competition and the owner said she would give us drinks on the house. I don't think a can of coke zero and a Pina coloda is doing us a favor. When I told them that is ridiculous, they offered 10% off, equivalent of the drinks being taken off. I told them we had to go and they said it would be just 8 minutes more. Now two other tables were done with their food that got there 45 minutes after us. We asked to put the food in to go box, that 8 minutes turned into another 20 minutes. After 1:45 minutes we finally got our food and got a whole 10% off. We will never be back.

They will turn you away because they’re going to close early last minute on a Friday night because they’re “slow and don’t want to be open”.

Can't speak to much of the menu, but the Spaghetti Carbonara listed the proper ingredients for "real" carbonara - so all three of us ordered it - and it was delicious. Service was attentive - atmosphere was nice - fairly busy on a Saturday night so the locals obviously like it. Only thing i didn't like (as a tourist) - ZERO Alcohol (remember this is a locals restaurant in Utah) - I had my heart set on a Peroni Beer, but all they had was Zero Alcohol Peroni. I would eat here again.... there is much more to the menu I need to try

We went when it first opened and it wasn't good but they were still trying to grt up and going. We went last week and the food was so bland. When we walked in no one was there which should have been a good sign. The waitress didn't do a good job with checking on on us with the only people there the full time we were there.

The food was good and the set up was fancy, but the service and atmosphere didn't match. The waiters were not friendly and rushed us to order, eat, and leave even though the restaurant was practically empty. My wife and I came dressed up to celebrate her birthday but the other patrons and general location of the restaurant made us feel overdressed, although the restaurant seems fancy. This restaurant doesn't provide anything special for birthdays, which is fine, but the staff didn't even say happy birthday when I left a note on the reservation and told them in person what we were celebrating. I might add for people coming to use the bar, all of the drinks are dealcoholized. This didn't bother me or affect my rating, but I know others might be interested to know.

My friend who works here (Elias) was late by 12 minutes. But he made up for it. Kadence let me in even though I was VERY early, gave me water, and was so nice. So quiet and peaceful. Wish I could tip. All road lead to rome

I ordered the salmon. Was not impressed with the portion to dollar value, even for Utah. The food was tasty. Would recommend trying it at least once. We didn't like how the walls separating us from others was actually pretty low. Felt like you were talking to everyone in the room.

The good: Very prompt friendly service.

The bad: The rest.

First we walked in and they said there's no alcohol. Which, OK. Whatever. Rules are rules. We decided to stay.

We ordered the calamari. The presentation was really good. The flavor was very bland and extremely salty. It looks like there was olive oil and some kind of mayonnaise sauce but nothing helped.

We both ordered Caesar salads. My wife got the salmon and I got the chicken.

Both were extremely bland and salty. They take the romaine and throw it on some type of Grill which is okay. But none of it's cut up. So we had to cut it all up and then I had the Caesar off to the side which was very bland. The salmon was decent but very salty. The chicken with some kind of marsala chicken which was a breaded in a wine sauce. And it was absolutely horrible. It's certainly wasn't a standard Caesar chicken salad. It's like they had extra chicken marsala at the end of night and they just decided to throw it on the salad and call it a Caesar.

I took about three bites of it and I couldn't eat anymore. The server didn't offer a refund but did offer a free dessert which I declined because I imagine that was probably not good either.

We also each had an Italian cream soda which was pretty good.

Overall, the final bill with tip and tax was $84. $84 for two cream sodas and I had four bites of my salad. And about half of the calamari.

Extremely disappointed in this place.

The Chicken Marsala was a particularly satisfying and delightful.
It was intriguing that the establishment offered bar service while maintaining non-alcoholic drinks throughout the restaurant.
I was contemplating the raspberry tarts as a dessert option.

My partner and I have been wanting to try Rome out, since its opening. The dimly lit atmosphere paired with a quaint music track was quite relaxing. The only sound it’s missing is a water feature. I do wish they had some complimentary food item given shortly after being seated, such as breadsticks or rolls. Honestly, their rolls are delicious! My partner got their carbonara. While it’s not quite what he was expecting, the taste was very good. I was limited in what I could have, because I have a lot of food sensitivities. So I ended up getting a beet salad with grilled salmon added. That pairing was tastier than I had anticipated. I would love to see a soup or two on their menu. A gluten free minestrone would be lovely. For dairy lovers, perhaps a creamy tortellini soup is in order.

The food does seem a little overpriced, when considering the smaller portion sizes. Then again, possibly not. We’ve gotten so accustomed to chain restaurant portions and pricing. Yet neither my partner nor I left hungry. We got an entree each and a shared dessert. Truly it was refreshing not to be given so much food that it could feed 2-3 people per entree. Each was portioned perfectly for one person who doesn’t want to take leftovers home. Too many restaurants contribute to an overeating problem or food waste, which is sad to me. But Rome has healthy portion sizes and I love seeing that. Also, a standalone restaurant will rarely have the capital that a chain restaurant has. Therefore, I expect to pay more for my dining experience. Overall, I want Rome to stay in Tooele. I hope they can successfully navigate appealing to a diverse demographic. The people seated near us seemed unimpressed, yet we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It goes to show everyone has different expectations. My expectation was to have a delicious meal I didn’t have to cook myself; to discover something new and interesting (FYI: salmon, balsamic, and beet flavors pair really well together); and to just sit back and be allowed to enjoy life. That’s exactly what I got out of it. Give Rome a chance. A second chance. A third chance. Give them your support. Life is freakin hard these days. And they started off with a huge disappointment. They were denied a liquor license because of a stupid, outdated law. At least that’s the rumor going around. Too many small businesses go under. Businesses that were someone’s dream. Rome is a lovely restaurant with a lot of potential to be great, which is why I’m giving them 5 stars. I wish them the best of luck in permanently anchoring themselves as a part of quaint little downtown Tooele.

Delicious food, excellent service, and a cozy atmosphere. The pasta dishes were cooked to perfection, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommended. A great spot for a night out or special occasion. Can't wait to go back!
