The staff was extremely nice and the food was good, for the location. We would recommend the sirloin (slightly overcooked for medium so maybe order medium rare)and mushrooms (such great flavor we loved them) Do the baked potato because the mashed potatoes tasted a little artificial.

We enjoyed dinner at the Rim Rock Restaurant. We chose outdoor seating, where we admired the beautiful view of nearby Capitol Reef Park. Service was excellent—one waiter efficiently and pleasantly handled the orders of all outdoor tables. All food was fresh and delicious, especially the salmon.

The views here first of all are amazing. We got food here on three nights, the first we all went as a family, my son got chicken tenders off the kids menu and they were great, plus the fries were very good! My wife got a pesto pasta she loved (and thank you for having multiple good vegetarian options!) and I got the honey garlic chicken and mashed potatoes (which were so good!!!). I came back the next night to get chicken tenders and mashed take out for the kiddo and Fabio was so helpful not just getting my meal, but also giving me pointers for visiting some nearby attractions. We liked it so well we had dinner again there tonight. We all got something different. The caramelized onions that came with my steak were divine and I had the mashed potatoes AGAIN. My wife got vegetarian enchiladas and a curry tomato soup she loved. My son drained multiple cups of lemonade and scarfed the fries again, this time with fish sticks! Highly recommend, the staff was lovely, the food excellent, and the views!!

I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but I feel like this needs to be shared.
We recently had dinner at The Rim Rock, and while the service and setting were nice, the experience took a bad turn. My mother ordered the tenderloin — a $40+ dish — and mentioned while eating that something about it tasted a little off. She didn’t make a fuss at the time, trying to give the benefit of the doubt.
Unfortunately, later that night she got violently sick — full-blown food poisoning. She was up all night throwing up, and there’s no doubt it was from that meal. At a place with this kind of reputation and price point, that’s unacceptable.
We expected better from a high-end restaurant like this. At the very least, food safety should be a given. Mind you, my mother is a head chef.

Unfortunately, we had a really disappointing experience at Rim Rock Restaurant. The owner was rude and dismissive, which set a negative tone right away. To make matters worse, we got food poisoning after eating there. Definitely not what we expected given the reviews. I hope they take this seriously and make some changes — both in how customers are treated and in food safety.
Ashley, our waiter, was very friendly and attentive, but the food was quite disappointing. My steak was almost inedible - I ordered it medium and it was so overcooked I just left half of it. The sides were fine, but overall quite a disappointment.
