Good hotel. Good restaurant

XYZ Colorado

They had large portions and tasted really good. The service was amazing and the location was inside the Red Sands Spa and Hotel.

This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The service was fine but the food was atrocious. I can only imagine that the kitchen in this place consists of a freezer and a microwave. Everything we were served was a frozen product, everything came out of a wrapper. As an appetizer we ordered “Chips and jalapeno queso” Which were literally stale Tostitos and cheeze whiz. My daughter and I ordered chicken Cordon Bleu and it was somehow mushy and chewy simultaneously, covered in a gluey jarred alfredo sauce. The wedge potatoes had a stretchy skin with a mealy, mushy inside. I don’t know how you can make vegetables dry and undercooked but they’re figured it out. None of us ate much, my daughter left and went to the Subway up the street.
This disaster of a meal clocked in at $80 bucks for three people.

The staff was great, very kind, quick, and respectful. The food was unique. I am not sure I have had some of those combinations. The food was good.

I didn’t have high expectations for The Rock Garden Eatery but Torrey is a very small town with limited eating options for a vegetarian and they did have a few vegetarian dishes.
I was very pleasantly surprised!!!
Staff were charming and the food excellent.
My hummus was very tasty and served with tons of pitta bread.
My quinoa salad had an excellent dressing and stuffed full of avocado, chopped cucumber, peppers, tomatoes and onions.
Really pleased I gave it a try.

We enjoyed breakfast at the Rock Garden Eatery for the two days that we stayed at the Red Sands Hotel. Service was excellent, although the first day we had to wait longer than we preferred due to a large family table that arrived before us. We were amazed at the enormous portions and shared one breakfast order for the two of us. The attached photo shows ½ of one order.

Poor food and very odd service.
Didn't expect to be offered the bill half way through our mains, without being asked if we wanted more drinks or dessert.

*We got takeout, we did not dine in*
Everyone there was friendly and the restaurant itself looked fine, but the food was extremely disappointing. My quinoa bowl came highly recommended by the staff, but when I opened the box at home, one of the 5 ingredients was missing (red peppers), the avocado was bruised and way overripe, and the meal itself was way too small. The meat in my partner’s burger was super dry and bland. After a long day of hiking and driving, this was a disappointing way to end the day.

We were staying at hotel and stopped by the restaurant for breakfast. I ordered simple boiled eggs and asked if they could make some steamed vegetables, even though it wasn’t on the menu. The waitress was very polite and happily said yes. Everything was prepared quickly and with care. My boyfriend ordered a full breakfast, which was also good — the hashbrowns weren’t cooked all the way through, but they still tasted great. Great service and a pleasant atmosphere — a perfect start to the day.

Big thanks to the sweet waitress who served us on the morning of Saturday, May 24 — you made our day start off right!

Had the chicken nachos. Chicken was raw in the middle. How as a ‘chef’, when cutting up the chicken, not notice it’s pink inside!? Hunter burger was just ok, prolly just a normal burger. Wasn’t worth my time to take it back and toss it at the ‘chef’. AVOID.

Came here after a strenuous hike in Capitol Reef and it may have been the best meal I've ever had. I thought I was biased because of the exhaustion but I took some leftovers home and when I ate them a few days later they were still phenomenal. I don't know what they put in the meat but it's perfectly tender and deliciously seasoned. The staff was super attentive, the food came fairly quickly, and the place is very clean and compact. Definitely want to stop here again next time I'm in the area!

I usually never leave reviews but this restaurant has a weird vibe. The server was nice but the food was just okay and overpriced for what it is. I’d pick somewhere else!
