Cole was a great tour guide. Lots of laughs, education and history shared. Really enjoyed it. It was really affordable and came with a whiskey tasting at the end and it was definitely worth it!
Got to the distillery at 1:30pm took the bus ride up and was told we couldn’t have a drink, eat food or do a tasting. Waste of time, at no point no one told us everything was closed.
Came for Sunday brunch with the family. Atmosphere was great but food was so so. maybe if we had come at an early time food quality would have been better but most items appeared to have been under heat lamps for so long they were rock hard like cornbread waffles, cinnamon rolls, biscuits. The salads were great though. We'll try an earlier times lot next time to see if it improve freshness
Great tour, tasting, and restaurant
A fanatic distillery experience. If you’re in the area, make sure to check out the Sunday brunch!
We did a distillery tour and tasting with Dan who was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The venue and space was very nice and live the details behind the fittings. The gift shop has a good selection and very high quality merch. It was good to taste the different whiskey they produced and campfire and mid summers night dream were my fav.
Definitely recommend! Really great on all fronts. I figured the whiskey would be great (which it was) and that the food would only be decent but it turned out that the food was incredible! We got a range of dishes from the bison burger/tacos and the shrimp and grits. It was all really great and reasonably priced.
The distillery itself has beautiful views and a lot of history. The only thing is that you have to take a shuttle bus from the parking lot to the distillery presumably because they don't want people driving the winding road intoxicated
A must stop for whiskey lovers. It’s way out in the Wahship boonies. And when you get there, it’s a shuttle bus ride up the mountain to the restaurant and distillery. A very classy venue with amazing views of the surrounding mountains.
The distillery operation was super clean with a heavenly aroma of malts and oak. Over the years we’ve taken many distillery tours, but this one at High West was one of the very best. We were lucky to have the manager (Ashley) as our tour guide. What an wealth of knowledge! And an entertaining & informative presentation. It’s a great story of an entrepreneur starting up a world class & successful distillery (especially in Utah)! The selection of gourmet whiskies was outstanding!
We are rye whiskey lovers and tried several small samples. Of course our favorite was the most expensive rye blend (Bourye). There’s a reason you can find High West whiskies in practically every lounge/bar in the state.
I went here for a tour and it was so much fun! This is a great group activity. The tour itself gets a 10/10!
I definitely dont recommend staying for a bite to eat though! The food was almost comical. It felt as if the kitchen just microwaved whatever they had. This plate of corn was the “Seasonal mixed veggies” ?? the cheese curds were the only good thing on the menu.
Great time had by all, good facility, well managed, good staff, I had 15 people they treated as well
Restaurantji Recommends
Very nice place. Some history items near restaurant area. Nice gift shop. The distillery tour was good. Food at the restaurant was not the best. The "pulled" chicken quesadilla wasn't made with pulled chicken. It was cut-up bits. Barely any cheese. Not the best tasting either. I wanted to send it back, but ate some of it anyway. We ate at their restaurant on Park Ave also, and food was similar quality. If I went back together place, I would not eat there. Just disappointing food.
Tour was a bit lacking on information, would have liked to have been shown the bottling process or at least the room it was done in. All the tour actually showed was the copper still and the fermentation tanks. A brief stop in the Rick house. Tour guide was more interested in being funny than informative. Brunch was ok, but expensive.
Not what I expected at all! Such a beautiful place! The property is stunning and the whiskey was great. My husband and I shared both flights. It was hard to choose a favorite! Shout out to our shuttle driver, Mr. Bill!
Food sucks waiters behavior like typical utah treash no internet in impression . Burger better in mMecdonalds worst c phase ever.
