An hour wait for chips and queso? Bold move, Café Rio! Overall rating of a 2. That’s a 4 for the queso, a 1 for the customer experience, and then I’m docking half a point for the unhelpful but inevitable AI Bot customer service response that will come shortly
I didn’t think it was possible for a bag of chips and queso—a task a reasonably coordinated 7-year-old could knock out in three minutes—to require one full hour to prepare. For chips. And queso. Not a burrito, not a catering tray… chips. And. Queso. But congratulations, Café Rio, you’ve shown me that miracles still happen.
Ordered online. It gave me an ASAP pickup of 6:10. I thought, “That’s not enough time for a busy Saturday.” So I picked 6:30, then showed up at 6:40. When I got to the counter, it was as if I had asked where my personalized Picasso painting was instead of what is essentially “dump chips in bag, pour queso in cup”. Seems easy enough. Cafe Rio’s response? “Not so fast, my friend!”
Now, get ready for their customer service expertise because I already know exactly how this will go. I’ll get a nice, polished, copy-and-paste message below this post saying: “We’re so sorry for your inconvenience! Please email us with 47 pieces of information and do more work so we can appear to be proactive, but we’ll actually do nothing.”
Here’s a fresh idea for you: instead of sending the standard “Oopsie!” script and making the customer do the heavy lifting, why not spend 20 seconds calling the store and confirming what happened and then actually fix it? Turn off your online ordering when you’re overwhelmed or until you have some actual logistics and operation procedures in place?
But again, if Café Rio put half as much effort into service as they do into automated apologies, maybe I wouldn’t still be sitting here wondering how my chips and queso entered a time warp.

So frustrated! My husband and I each ordered a salad for take out. After arriving home and starting to eat, discovered my meat was on my husband's salad and vice versa. There was no option to trade salads because I have a dairy allergy. This is the 4th time my order has been made incorrectly. Check your orders! Hopefully if this happens to anyone else, there is no serious medical issue. I will not be taking my business here anymore.
I had the Wednesday special, tostada and a drink. I love their food and wow, was the strawberry lemonade fresh and delicious.

Do not order from here using an offer/coupon online. I received an offer of buy 2 get 1 free (on the next visit). I ordered 2 meals and redeemed the offer and I never received my free entree. I went to the store and talked to 3 different people and was basically told to call customer service. I ask for a number for customer service and not a single person could give me the number or would take the time to go and find it for me. I am very disappointed with the West Point location. Me or my son comes here at least once twice a month if not more, but not any more. COSTA VIDA is just as close, now that construction is over I will be heading north on 2000 west instead of south.

It is a Cafe Rio. Same as all the other Cafe Rios. Consistent food and decent prices for what you get...but not a five star restaurant by any stretch.

We have been soo impressed by this location. I feel like the portions are generous and the workers don’t roll their eyes if you ask for more specific orders. This is our favorite location by far!!

The recipes have never stayed consistent at this location. Also, the dressing has been getting worse and worse. Not sure if I'll come back to this location any time soon. Maybe I'll wait for this round of workers to phase out.

It was a little hard to hear the staff, but they were very friendly. My husband totally got more Barbacoa sweet pork than me but everything was fresh and delicious 😋

I usually go to the Layton one but this one being closer I figured why not. They are truly getting stingy and cheap with their portions. They now only let you apply military discount to one item even if your with your family. The Layton one never says anything they just help you. On top of that it used to be hard to close the lid on a salad now they barely put enough salad and ingredients to get to the top of the tray. And this is the first time this has happened. This has happened multiple times. I’m just finally writing a review about all of this . Seems they have forgotten what customer satisfaction and service mean and from what I can read, they have not seem to learn anything. All the reviews are the same. You don’t believe me just read below there’s more negative reviews than positive. The funny thing is is that this is all fixable. If you have the time go to Layton where they recognize who their customers are and how to treat them . In an era where restaurants are up and down you would think they wouldn’t be so cheap on food and other areas.

This is the worst Cafe rio. The employees are rude, the tables were all dirty. I had to grab a rag and some cleaner and clean the table myself. When I brought the cleaner back the girl that worked there said hey thanks for cleaning the table for me. I said no problem I said I guess you won't be getting a tip. It's just full of really rude ignorant employees that don't care about anyone. Also, they've stripped the military discount. It used to be on your whole family now it's just on one entree. The old Cafe Rio is gone and is never coming back. Welcome to the new Cafe Rio. Where they don't seem to care about you or your needs.
Do not order from here. Just did uber eats and the delivery was fast but I paid 50 dollars for two burritos and all it had in each of em were rice and beans. They refused to take responsibility when I called to try and fix the issue.
