I just moved out here and had this tonight for the first time and it was absolutely amazing Mexican food. I am a chef and recommend this place to anyone looking for good Mexican food at a pretty good price as well

Ordered chicken fajitas for two. NO RICE! No savory sauce with meat and veggies. Toppings, salsa, (bland) and chips portions very small - $35.70! I have had this dish dozens of times - it ALWAYS includes rice and costs about $21. If you want Mexican - go to Madison Heights!

Our family favorite, we take all our out of town guests when they visit.
Food is consistent, comes out fast, tastes fresh. Service is always on point. Restaurant stays clean. Overall, a winner for our family.
Kid-friendliness: We bring our kids here all the time. It's casual enough that you don't have to worry about the kids being a disruption to others. Doesn't have a dedicated play area for kids, but they stay entertained with the chips and salsa/cheese while waiting for the meal to arrive!

Honestly it's hard to mess up Mexican food but we found our food to be very bland and tasteless. While the portion of my dinner was decent, the beans were just a soupy mess on my plate, by burrito was mostly filled with onions and there was barely any cheese topping. All in all it was the worst I've had. Edible, but very disappointing.My husband's was okay but not great.The service wasn't great either. Not overly friendly by any means. Sadly, we were hoping it would be enjoyable but we're scatching this one off our list.

El Mariachi is a wonderful little restaurant that has high-quality Mexican food, but it's the consistency that separates from the pack. I have visited many times and almost every time the taste is the same. The staff does a good job making sure you have what you need. Great food at a decent price.
