The food here was amazing. If you are heading to Caesars in Danville, or coming back from it, this is a great place to stop. The food is very reasonable. The service was super fast. I went there with my friend for her birthday and it was better than Gordon Ramsey's inside of Caesar's by a million percent. We had not eaten all day, so we had eyes that were bigger than our stomachs. We had the crab dip, which I could eat daily. It came with homemade pita chips and plenty for 2 people. We had Hush Puppies that came with butter and honey. They were good, but not the best that I've ever had. They were very good. My friend wanted chicken wings and they were the little drummettes. She said they were cooked and fried to perfection krispy enough that I could hear the crunch when she bit into it. I ordered the skirt steak medium and it was cooked correctly and seasoned well. I had the mashed potatoes, I could eat a whole cereal bowl full. The green beans were like something that my grandmother would have made simply delicious. The portion of the sides was a little bit too small, but probably dietarily, correct. I just wanted more. I ordered fish tacos to go as well as the chicken carbonara to share with my father when I got home. They were both scrumptious. The fish tacos are a little spicy so if you don't like spicy, you need to ask them not to make them so spicy. The birthday girl had the seafood platter fried catfish, fried shrimp and french fries. I didn't taste it. She said it was amazing. The breading on it reminded me of Long John Silver. If you like cornmeal dusted fried fish, you probably won't like that. If you like beer battered fish or flour battered fish, then it's probably going to be good for you. I also ordered desserts to go; creme brulee and bread pudding. The creme brulee was so perfect. Not too sweet, a perfect consistency. I could not tell that I didn't get it out of a french restaurant. The bread pudding did not have raisins in it thank God. It was absolutely perfect soft, not chewy, nor dry with a nice creme anglaise on top. I am looking forward to my next visit and will make an excuse to go there if I'm anywhere near it. We ordered a lot of food and took a lot of food home. The bill was about one sixty and then I add a tip so it came close to 200 dollars, worth every penny.

I’ve tried really hard to like their burgers, but there’s just not a lot of flavor or that good juicy burger bite. The fries seem to be good high quality and everyone I know loves to crab dip. The service is usually pretty good and it’s a very cute restaurant. Be prepared most of the time it’s on the colder side but if you ask them, they will adjust the thermostat. Overall, I think it’s a pretty good restaurant just not my personal favorite.

We had a birthday dinner for a friend last night at this, his favorite restaurant. We brought a cake and they were so accommodating! They set us up for 20 people and over the next 4 hours treated us like we were the most special people on earth. The food was delicious, all of it coming out fresh and hot.
Though it's an hour from home, we'll be back!

A great stop. Love to visit local places🙂 instead of chains😒. The grilled pimento cheese sandwich with bacon and fried green tomatoes was delish!

A genuine local place that has been a mainstay in this town for over 70 years. Stick to the basics and you’ll do well here. Pan fried catfish platter hit the spot with real hush puppies and very good coleslaw. The fried green tomatoes also hit the spot. My companion’s chicken dish was too salty however. Our salads were fresh and well prepared. Would love to see more local wines on the menu- Rebec Vineyards, Ankita Ridge, and Lazy Days — all Amherst County small family-owned wineries. It would be great to play up the seriously local vibe of this establishment. It’s a happy place that exudes authentic local character.

The baked potato was old . The oysters were greasy. We were there in September and all was delicious. We were so looking forward to it again and was very disappointed. My husband wanted oysters an scallops. Which was discontinued. So he ordered oysters and catfish and I ordered the oysters which was only a dollar less than the two items. Both of us was disappointed ☹️
