Traveling from Central NY to North Carolina we stopped here for some real food and to sit down to eat. The atmosphere feels like a church reception, the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. Our food was absolutely phenomenal. Incredible. We were blessed to meet the owner who was happy we found her restaurant and treated us like family, she even sat with us and had a conversation after we finished our meal. Don't miss this hidden gem!!!

I was coming home from a long weekend in DC and wanted to grab some lunch. So as I hunted for something better then the normal same old restaurants, stumbled across a place called Around The Table that advertised soul food with several pictures. I dont know if it was because I was hungry or the picture of the smothered pork chops looked that good but I was excited. My boyfriend warned me not to get my hopes up to high as we have had some real disappointments with new restaurants. BUT NOT THIS TIME 😊 I ordered thoes pork chops with fries and collards and what I was served was the best pork chops I have ever had in my life. I swear as I ate every bite just got better and better. From the gravy and tender pork chops to the amazing collards I was truly impressed but the cherry on top had to be the amazing staff/owners. They were all so nice and welcoming. One would say you come in as guests and leave as family and that is how I truly felt. At Around The Table you will definitely feel the love both in the food and towards the guests. We left completely satisfied in every way. We will definitely travel the 3 hours from NC to come back and visit. Thank you ladies for feeding my tummy, heart, and soul.

I recently wrote a review about my experience at your restaurant, and the response I received was both surprising and disappointing. You claimed there was video evidence of me being greeted, but if that’s true, please provide the audio of the interaction. Surely there must be a microphone capturing the conversation, so let’s hear it.
If the greeting truly happened, prove me wrong with the audio. However, I know you can’t—because it didn’t happen.
Beyond this issue, my experience included poor customer service, a limited menu, and rude behavior from your staff. Adding dishonesty to the mix only worsens your reputation.
As a “Soul Food” restaurant in Ashland, your business depends on paying customers. I suggest focusing on improving your service and being truthful rather than deflecting criticism.
I had a disappointing experience during my recent visit to this restaurant. Upon walking in, I noticed that the atmosphere was slow, with only a few customers present. I stood at the counter for five minutes without being acknowledged, even though I observed three staff members interacting with each other or assisting others.
I believe that customer service is a crucial part of the dining experience, and I was hoping for a warm greeting or acknowledgment as I stood there. While I can’t comment on the food since I didn’t receive any service, I think that improving customer interactions could make a significant difference in how guests perceive the restaurant before trying the food. Evidently, they make enough money and have enough customers that they don’t need to acknowledge new ones trying your place out.
