Food was excellent, service was good and lady owner sang happy birthday to my niece.
We arrived and were seated immediately.
Two in my family did not like the pork chops, said it was not seasoned and or tasted bland. One asked for the baked chicken instead and enjoyed the baked chicken. Leaving this in the review with the hope and confidence that the pork chops will improve over time.
We received our appetizers and one starters first, children had their food immediately after appetizers were served, entrees and then sides were delivered separately and after the entrees were served. Everyone was asked, who asked for this side and that side. So wait for it and you will get your food.
Love all the phrases and or sayings posted throughout the restaurant reminding you that you are loved etc...
I had the catfish, green beans and baked beans and they all were amazing. I also had the blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream and that was just as amazing. My brothers told me that I need to try the baked beans (best he ever had) and the blackberry cobbler; all of my brothers had the blackberry cobbler except one of my brothers because our mother made blackberry pie at home for us. My brother Keith did not have the blackberry cobbler; he said, no one told him anything. Evidently he would have tried it, if he knew about it.
We all said we would love to return because the food and service is that good!

We drove about 9 miles to ATT and the food and the people and the hostess were absolutely AMAZING! Best spoonbread i ever had in my life,TBH,I woke up this morning thinking about what I want to try next,and soon as 11:00a.m roll around, my wife and I are headed back 😋, you walk in as guest,but you'll leave out as family 🧡

First time dinners. The fried chicken was delicious as well as the collard greens and fried okra. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Will be coming back in the future!

Worst crabcakes I've ever eaten, pan-fried, over-seasoned, and mashed into thin dark brown patties. Looked and tasted more like old fashioned mackerel cakes made from canned mackerel. Crab cakes should be light, fluffy, made with backfin meat, and taste like crab. Soul food has always been about taking crap ingredients and making it delicious, not about taking quality ingredients and making it taste worse. Can't believe I paid $28 for that, but there you are. Hopefully the meat entrees with gravy will taste better.

Traveling from Central NY to North Carolina we stopped here for some real food and to sit down to eat. The atmosphere feels like a church reception, the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. Our food was absolutely phenomenal. Incredible. We were blessed to meet the owner who was happy we found her restaurant and treated us like family, she even sat with us and had a conversation after we finished our meal. Don't miss this hidden gem!!!

I was coming home from a long weekend in DC and wanted to grab some lunch. So as I hunted for something better then the normal same old restaurants, stumbled across a place called Around The Table that advertised soul food with several pictures. I dont know if it was because I was hungry or the picture of the smothered pork chops looked that good but I was excited. My boyfriend warned me not to get my hopes up to high as we have had some real disappointments with new restaurants. BUT NOT THIS TIME 😊 I ordered thoes pork chops with fries and collards and what I was served was the best pork chops I have ever had in my life. I swear as I ate every bite just got better and better. From the gravy and tender pork chops to the amazing collards I was truly impressed but the cherry on top had to be the amazing staff/owners. They were all so nice and welcoming. One would say you come in as guests and leave as family and that is how I truly felt. At Around The Table you will definitely feel the love both in the food and towards the guests. We left completely satisfied in every way. We will definitely travel the 3 hours from NC to come back and visit. Thank you ladies for feeding my tummy, heart, and soul.

This place is hands down one of the best in Ashland and a must go if you’re looking for some delicious home cooked soul food. EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious! Portions are HUGE! And Service was Outstanding!
