They closed the one in our area so when we visited Ashland VA and saw Captain D's we didn't hesitate to stop. I have nothing bad to say about this place,food service atmosphere where all perfect.

Think of it as an east coast long John's but better. Good good at a decent price. Just be warned none of the combo meals come with a drink. Also. The parking lot is a little weird.

I was in on 3/14 or 3/15, and I am not sure when. I was their first customer of the day. I got fish and baked potato. It was the best that I've ever had at Captain D's. The cashier was very nice, polite, and respectful. She had everything behind the counter spotless but kept cleaning until my food was ready. I hope I get to Ashland Virginia again soon.

Everything was delicious. The fried shrimp were crispy, the fish with malted vinegar was piping hot with great flavor. Even the sides tasted great. The sweet tea was Southern Sweet.

Everything was cold. Waited 20 minutes for food and the fish was room temperature, the fries were cold, and the Mac and cheese was literally uncooked. No forks in the bag. No line.

Young lady at the drive thru had attitude,she asked what condiments we want and she stated” we don’t have tartar sauce”. Its a seafood restaurant with no tartar sauce sounds insane
