While I adore Cracker Barrel lately things just haven't been up to their standards, in my opinion. I was at this location yesterday (3/12/25) and had an early dinner. I ordered the Meatloaf, with mashed potatoes and corn, no gravy. While the Meatloaf was semi warm but tasty, the mashed potatoes were gray, stiff and was just a clump on the plate. Where were the creamy mashed potatoes I used to get? The corn wasn't sweet, tasted almost al dente from frozen. They were still cold. The restaurant wasn't busy so I just don't quite understand why the meal was this way. Rather than complain, I ate the bread (biscuits were hard as a brick), and the meatloaf. I took home my left over meatloaf for the dog but left the potatoes and corn on the plate. It just wasn't up to par. I am willing to give this location another chance before I say goodbye for good which is why I still recommend them.

Pinto beans were soft in the middle but Hulls were tough. Most of the food was very salty. The waitress was very attentive and personable. The only reason I gave at least three stars overall.

Very busy but the staff did a great job on making sure myself and others were taken care of. My server was very pleasant when she came to the table to take our order she was smiling and positive she took or orders for drinks and food. She came back with our drinks and told us she would be back shortly to check on us and she did. She went back to check on our food it wasn't ready she said few more minutes and out comes two other young ladies giving a helping hand to there co worker to bring us our fresh hot food. Our sever came to table asked if everything is OK we said yes

Waitress was not very friendly. We ordered meatloaf, mashed potatoes and fried apples. My husband had carrots instead of fried apples. the mashed potatoes tasted like they had been warmed over from the previous day. Nothing was very warm, not even our first cup of coffee. We were very disappointed with the food and service. We used to love Cracker Barrel but lately the service and food has been awful.

Cracker Barrel Review - 12/06/2024
Stopped in after enjoying the drive-through lights in Doswell, VA, on the way home. We were seated quickly and greeted promptly by our server, who took our drink orders and meals at the same time—a nice touch for efficiency.
I opted for the fried chicken tenders with mac and cheese and steak fries. The meal was absolutely delicious, though the chicken was slightly dry. However, the buttermilk ranch served on the side was phenomenal—easily some of the best restaurant ranch I've had in a long time and it elevated the dish significantly. The biscuits, clearly made in-house, were a delightful complement to the meal.
One person at my table had the grilled chicken tenders, steak fries, and chicken and dumplings. Everything was equally delicious, though they jokingly remarked that the portion of chicken wasn’t enough to satisfy their craving! Another in our group had the Hamburger Steak with gravy, paired with fried sweet apples. The dish was fantastic overall, though the mashed potatoes left something to be desired. They were hard and seemed like they might have been sitting for a while, which was a slight letdown.
We also enjoyed the charm of the country store, with its variety of nostalgic candies, old-fashioned treats, and unique clothing options. It added a quaint and inviting touch to the overall experience.
All in all, a wonderful meal and atmosphere to look forward to revisiting. Despite a couple of minor critiques, the quality of the food and the overall visit make this a stop worth making again.

Great staff, the hostess was on her way out for the night and saw my group walk in as the other hostess had just sat a group. She stopped and turned around to get the menus and sat us. The waitress, Megan, I believe that was her name, was super politie, very patient, nailed the order, and checked in frequently. The food was absolutely amazing, my pancakes for dinner were perfect. Best Cracker Barrel, in my opinion.
Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly atmosphere, and menu.

I was excited that they have an option to pay with your phone. However, it wasn't working. Per the cashier, it's hit or miss.
