HORRIBLEE!!!! I do mean horrible. We are from out of town and after looking in yelp decided to support this locally owned Start up. We arrived to what looked almost like a house and a empty parking lot. There was a lady outside smoking in the patio. We ventured closer to the entrance to find the that she is standing right in front smoking weed! My husband, daughter and myself continue walking in. To my surprise the girl outside getting High is actually an employee!! No greeting but at least she washed her hands. I asked if we should seat ourselves! She was appalled at my question and told me we had to order at the counter bc she was the only employee there. Okkkkk,,, immediately following this statement a guy with an apron comes up front so that was a lie!! Furthermore, if she can find time to eat high outside why can't she come to the table like what is expected in any sit down establishment? Nevertheless, We give her our order and wait. Make a long story short we ate with plastic silverware and we were told the cups are only for tea, lemonade and kool-aid so I could not have a glass of water. The burgers are over cooked cheap patties, my turkey wings were tough. The greens were like straight can glory greens. The best thing was the Sister Shubert roll they included. I was verrry disappointed!! No kidding while we waited on our food we saw her outside finishing up what she started.I really wanted to help support someone in my community. Even if the food wasn't the best, the attitudes could have went a long way!! I don't see this restaurant staying in business. As for the logo I for sure didn't waddle out. I was still hungry because the food really wasn't edible.

Omg it was amazing we were visiting Richmond for the holiday and the food was some of the BEST Soul food I have ever had. I ordered turkey wings and my boyfriend order the giant burger we were extremely happy with the food the service and the cleanliness. You will definitely be comz a Back

We've been there twice. Liked it so tried it again. Food is pretty tasty, although we only tried a few things. I like to stick to what I know. My family had burgers and fries, ordered the heavy but only got the regular and one of them had no cheese. So we were cheated out of $3 per sandwich. Good food but check before you leave so you don't have to go all the way back up there in the rain!

The food is nasty I had the chicken and fish dinner and I think they just put the chicken in flour and cooked it didn't even attempt to put seasonings on it the fish was coated alright but not that much the mac and cheese noddles was too big and bland fries was soggy just don't was your time, and might I add very expensive 16.00 dollars for a meal so basically 36.00 dollars wasted for nothing

Let me start by saying, this was not my first visit to Fat Duck's. I've come before and had the pork chop dinner & it was sooooooo darn good! I've also had the shrimp basket and ribs. One time I had mashed potatoes, unfortunately they were instant mashed potatoes so I didn't enjoy those. I've also had the the cabbage, macaroni & cheese and yams and they did not disappoint. They also have GOOD rice pudding, when it's available.. desserts vary. Today I called for ribs (because they're so good I had been thinking about them all day at work) and found out they were out. So I ended up getting BBQ chicken wingettes with fries & a drink. These fries were soggy when I got home and I'm only about 5 minutes away my chicken was okay. Luckily I had potato salad as a backup side... And it is good! Really wish the fries weren't soggy though, I love a french fry.. I mean, who doesn't?! The ladies up front are very nice and personable & make the wait go by nicely.

I sent my daughter for a meatloaf dinner. It was served cut in the length of a hotdog with no gravy. The recipe is dry. The cabbage hand too much salt. Please keep in mind your seniors. I would not purchase the meatloaf again.

We ordered a 2 piece whiting dinner with potato salad, yams and cabbage. I bought banana pudding as an impulse. The potato salad is phenomenal. I enjoyed the sides more than the fish. The fish was good but those yams....and that cabbage... whew. Words can't describe the banana pudding. I'm stuffed.

I found this spot ion yelp. I have to admit when we pulled up I was not impressed with the exterior. It is a bit small and could use some sprucing up but boy oh boy the food was yummy. I had fish and shrimp with yams and green beans. The fish was fried just right and so were the shrimp. The portions are also more than enough. The customer service was superb.
You have to eat it to believe it. Lol literally this food so good it will make you cry.

Wish I was more impressed. The crab cakes were decent, but nothing to write home about... and included at least 2 bites worth of shells, the mac and cheese was barely edible and the fries were flaccid and underdone. Service was friendly and atmosphere was very intimate, which were the saving graces.

Low stars mainly because of inconsistency. I have tried to give this place a chance, but each time I go they're out of something on their menu. 3 out of 4 times they were out of their signature potato salad. Come on! How do you never have a staple menu item? Another time they were out of meatloaf AND turkey wings. A time after that they were out of potato salad again and cabbage. Each time was well before closing hours, so it's no excuse. The inconsistency is quite disappointing. I figured I would stop going when I started calling ahead of time to see what they actually DO have before I wasted time making the drive.

We ordered the fish and shrimp dinner with mac n cheese and collards. Also tried their seafood salad....amazing! We love having a Soul food restaurant near us. I am craving for their food right now.
