I booked a room here because it was close enough to DC but not in the heart of it. I absolutely enjoyed my stay. Staff was wonderful, especially William. He helped me with my bags and made sure that I was well informed and gave me food options in the area. I will definitely be staying here again. Hope to see you again William!

We greatly enjoyed our stay to see the Christmas lights, and will stay again when we make it back to Ashland again. A great location and so nice to sit on the downstairs or upstairs porch. The staff here is so friendly and accommodating.Walkability: Lots of restaurants and some shopping within easy walking distance.

The chef is excellent! The food is wonderful! The service is prompt and friendly. The atmosphere is warm and inviting! The baked chicken and potatoes are great and I had the best bread pudding ever! Much improved and highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Henry Clay Inn. Our room was clean and adequately sized for our family. The staff is very friendly and the food was delicious. The location of the Inn is fantastic. It's across from the campus of Randolph Macon College and just a block away from the shops and restaurants on Center St. The Amtrak station is directly across from the Inn but the trains never disturbed our sleep. Highly recommend if you are visiting the Ashland area.

From the day I made the reservation for The Henry Clay Inn to the morning of our checkout, we felt welcome. Driving home from the OBX to Ligonier PA, we needed a half way point to stop for one night. The friendly town of Ashland was it. Our stay was perfect, from the charming inn’s rooms to the delicious dinner on the porch and breakfast in the am. The service and attention to our needs was impeccable. Located across from the Ashland train station added to the charm of our stay. We will return!

The food was horrible, fake kiddie chicken nuggets on the chicken and waffles, the only bread they had was sourdough and half of the menu was 86dNoteworthy details: The food is horrible compared to what surrounds them

We did a girls trip to run the Ashland 1/2 marathon and what a great location! We could walk right out to the start line. Beautiful Inn and we loved the breakfast after our race.

We really enjoyed staying here. Our dinner was incredible, service was great, and the staff is awesome. We enjoyed having coffee on the patio and for breakfast had the best biscuits and gravy that we've had in years. The trains are very active, but we really enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend!

Sadly not a good review as things have gone downhill from this once great brunch location. Mixed drinks and food were awful. Please get back to how things use to be.

This is a quaint little bed & breakfast that is absolutely gorgeous! The decor is warm & inviting. This city is known for the railroads & the Inn sits directly behind the train station. Kevin & Milton are wonderful hosts, very friendly. Breakfast was great and very appreciated! I encourage you to stay at the Henry Clay Inn...a wonderful, relaxing experience!Nearby activities: Great restaurants, shops, theater, museum & library.Safety: Very safe to walk around. Lots of people everywhere. Saw several police riding through. A couple of them even stopped & accessed the area.Walkability: Almost everything is in walking distance. ( ice cream, convenient stores, movies, small local shopsFood & drinks: The Iron Horse restaurant is a must for lunch or dinner. Food, drinks & atmosphere is awesome!

Ambiance was underwhelming for what we expected. Mixed drinks were gross. Brunch was pretty good. One and done for me.

April 2023I would highly recommended this place for accommodations, service, food quality and all around experience. Our stay/visit was based around the town's 'Train Day' and couldn't be more satisfied with our time here. Absolutely no complaints!
