We stopped for dinner and drinks at Beale's with our little girl and dog while staying near Bedford. Everything was really good. After ordering at the bar, staff brought our food out. Outdoor seating was nice and they had water bowls for the dog. We both had barbecue sandwiches and they were really good. Great beer too. I liked their spiced apple ale. I'll definitely stop here next time visiting Peaks of Otter.

This is a pretty decent brewery, especially for Virginia. My husband really liked the spiced apple cider/beer he had today, and his hamburger was quite good. My brisket was tougher than I expected it to be, but the coleslaw was my favorite I've had lately, as were the barbecue sauces to use on the brisket. The baked macaroni and cheese had a lot of pepper at the bottom and was far too salty but still tasted okay.
Be aware, the meals don't seem to come with sides, so that adds quite a bit to the price (and my meal was not worth the final price, tbh). Also, absolutely all business is done at the bar, from ordering to getting more to paying the final bill with a server only bringing out the food and clearing tables.
Compared to our favorite breweries in Michigan, this place was decent, and we might be back.

Food and Beer were great! BUT…………. CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!! Be sure to “CLOSE” out your tab before you leave. Cards are left OPEN after you pay for drinks and meals at bar where you are directed to go upon arrival to order drinks and food. If not closed out, they charge you 20% “gratuity” fee. No one came to our table after the food was delivered. I did not ask for my card to be left opened when ordering. Got an alert on my card about the “gratuity” charge 8.5 hours after we ate there. They did REFUND the extra charge when asked, but I was made to feel that it was my fault that I didn’t close the tab.

My first experience here was great! Cool industrial setting, good beer selection, and the smoked wings with dry rub were delicious. There was a line of people waiting to get in when they opened at noon, and a steady stream after I left. Not sure what the whining and complaining is all about with some of the recent reviews, but I’ll definitely come back when I’m in Bedford.

We traveled to Beales in Bedford Va from Lynchburg Va for a hamburger, there were a few issues but then came a young lady named Bobby. She made a suggestion of the tacos, which one of us took the bait outside of their norm and tried the taco, the tacos were awesome. She is genuinely awesome in her customer service and she enjoys what she does just by how she treats her customers. With the issues she compensated very well to make sure we had an enjoyable meal. If we had more Bobby’s in this world, it would be an even better place. Bobby is awesome!!!!

We have never had a bad experience here. The staff is always so friendly and food is great. Portion sizes are well worth the money and we never leave hungry. Heck, we do good to finish our meal! Love sitting outside when the weather permits.

Beers are always a plus, as are their awesome cobblers! Great family ambience. One of our favorite places for great food and beer.

There’s a last time for everything. We’ve been coming here since they opened and the new changes just ruin the experience. 500 degrees inside and I basically had to do everything but make my own food. Good run but this won’t last long this way.
