I used to eat at el cazador when I first moved to Bedford in 2017. They had decent service,wait times and average Mexican food. The decor was quirky and appealing. We went back shortly after restaurants reopened after covid in 2022 (?). The decor,service and wait times were still the same but the food was horrible! My chili poblano was like another poster on this thread- just a stem. The rest of the food was also awful. I said I could make a better Mexican meal from canned Old El Paso and cheap cheese and tortillas. I really believe they should refund their customers money for serving slop. I havent been

I usually order take out. It’s rare that my family eats in with our busy schedules. We’ve always had good food from here. We typically order the same thing, a bunch of tacos and cheese burritos. I got a chicken quesadilla this last time and it was great. The price of everything everywhere has gone up, so it’s no surprise that take out is expensive. That’s why I pick it up myself and not DoorDash it. Order by phone and it’s usually ready in 15 minutes. The owners are really nice. It’s close to home and in between the kids’ activities so we will order again.

I LOVE Mexican food, well any ethnic food really, but Mexican is my favorite. This was the most disappointing meal I have ever had. My husband’s steak fajitas were decent, but my combo plate was horrendous. I ordered a plate with a burrito, tamale, and chili relleno. The sauce on my burrito tasted and smelled like canned spaghetti sauce, the tamale was mush topped with unseasoned ground beef, and the chili relleno was a pile of ground beef with zero chili as shown in the middle of the plate of mush, unseasoned, covered with cheese. The service was exceptionally slow, and unremarkable. It was worth a try, but not worth the cost. I will gladly pay more for food with flavor and texture over a plate of mush. The photo is what I couldn’t eat because it was so bad. The refried beans from my husband’s fajitas were the best part of the meal and what I ended up enjoying for dinner. There is nothing about this experience I could recommend to anyone else.

As having been the CREATOR of the original facebook group in 2007, and good friends with the previous owner, this place has gone downhill. It’s been gradual, but the prices have only gone uphill as they have everywhere. The problem is the quality of what you're getting DOES NOT reflect it. I ordered the catfish, and it was DRY and FLAVOURLESS. Unacceptable for $16. Save your money and give this ONCE AMAZING place a pass.

If the woman that manages the restaurant isn't working the service is terrible. Had to ask for a waiter to take our order, waters were not refilled at all despite asking, rang up the wrong amount. Sad because the food is great.

Me and my wife have been going to el caz for years and will continue to do so, the food is always hot fresh and delicious, they have the best margaritas in town, and the owners hector and donna are wonderful people and always treat us like family, by far our favorite place in town for date night
