We had dinner here last night. Could only eat half, so part of that went into our scrambled eggs for breakfast. The leftovers from hubby's meal will be his lunch one day this week.
Good food (and plenty) and good service. We've never eaten there even though we go through Blackstone on occasion. I'm glad we stopped there yesterday!

It was a Wednesday we got there at 5 PM by 6 PM. It was pretty well packed. The server was very pleasant. The food was delicious and I had pickled beets and they were so fresh and tasty. Even the customers were extremely friendly it definitely was the perfect small town vibe. And before we left, even the owner stopped by to converse for a moment, she was extremely pleasant as well. It was an awesome dinner experience if you’re passing through the Blackstone Virginia area definitely recommend stopping. The booths were wonderful for privacy and quiet, Perfect for a date it was so private and quiet. Oh, and we had an appetizer it was exceptional. It was the sampler.

My vegetarian friend was served chicken salad sandwich despite requesting a vegetarian version of it. Unfortunately, they didn’t realize until after taking a few bites. This was very disappointing. They have to be attentive to dietary preferences of guests.
We were staying at The Inn at Blackstone and were trying to decide on dinner. We decided to go to Mitchell's. We're glad we did. Portions were great and service was great. I got the gyro platter and it was awesome. My wife got the smothered chicken with fried okra and loved it also. You probably wont go wrong with anything. I'd recommend Mitchell's to anyone.

First time at Mitchell’s. The hush puppies were so great I got seconds (and thirds)! Also, tried the tasty Greek gyro which was a nice surprise to find in a small town. Friendly, helpful owners. Next time I’m in town I’ll go back!

Just in town visiting and needed food. We walked in for a late dinner. The service was good and the food was great. The pulled pork had a good smoked flower and the country fried steak was twice what I have seen at over places and good. The fried okra was golden brown. Our glasses were kept full. And the owner stopped and chatted. Would recommend for a good comfort food meal.
